I am a Portsmouth fan and just registered to say thanks for the Game on Saturday.

You won , but we all say "we did not lose".

Every one I have spoken to have 100% respect for your supporters and we all had some good banter.

ANy why all the Celeray ,did you think we Grocers

And yes I was the lone idiot on the Tube amongest 200 of you and was got to sing.

Fair Play - and the best for you lot.

I would In first half Pompey were sheer lucky as the Woodwork was doing most of the defending for them.

If not all at least Kalou and Drogba's were sure shot goals in some other conditions but they missed by a whisker.

But in second half Grant's boys came out really strong and made it tough for Blues initially. But that penalty miss and Drogs amazing strike sealed the deal.

Anyways it was fantastic stuff and good fight till the end over all by a side which has been relegated with no mistake on part of its players.

Cheers!!!

Good to hear from you mate, thanks for the message and glad you enjoyed your day. The fans if not the club desreved something to enjoy from this season.

Best of luck next year, hope you bounce back soon.

Ehhh, I fear you have missed the point there Jesus!

It was a great game. Portsmouth showed so much spirit, just as you have all season really (although I didn't appreciate some of the kicks!). Hitting the woodwork 5 times before giving away a penalty really had me thinking the worst though! Two penalty misses that day overall too, pretty crazy final against a manager I have a lot of respect for.

I've never had anything bad to say about Portsmouth fans, it's just a shame that the club's financial side has been ran so poorly. Good luck for next year!

I am too with Pompeyes for what they had to suffer this year.

Poor administration and substandard Financial management cost them dearly and players had no option but to continue playing with dark future in front of them.

Their team played quite well under Grant lately .

On the way to FA Final they provided many upsets like beating Spurs in Semis.

They also just like Chelsea had to face internal issues and biggest shock for them must be that deduction of 9 points.

But their squad showed great spirit and maturity to overcome all these draw backs and reach finals....so Kudos to them for that

I did notice the score , my point was not ment to offend.

We thought we were going to hammered 7 - 0 , so 1-0 was party time

Please don't mind him. The vast majority of the forum have a lot of respect for Pompey and their fans and sympathy for what they've been through this season. You did amazingly well to get to the final and I am glad you enjoyed it. You have some of the best support in the league and that will be sorely missed next season.

I'm sure we'll happily pay. I sincerely hope your club pulls through the mess created by the boardroom suits, you fans deserve a whole lot better.

Agree with all but Jesus on this one, always liked Pompey and its fans, such a shame your financial situation went down the pan!

Here's to seeing you back in the Premiership in 2011

I think you are the only fans who enjoyed it more than we did.

I posted this on another thread:

Travelling from South London, as we hit Waterloo our carriage filled up with Pompey supporters all asking 'How many you going to get today lad's' when they saw the colours. It's not as though there is the rivalry with Portsmouth as there is against the likes of Arsenal or Man Utd who we've previously and recently met at Wembley. Although, I know years ago there was quite a bit of aggravation down on the South coast and there are many older supporters who have probably had a run-in with them.

Saturday was different though. There few a few conversations exchanged on the tube, a bit of banter on Wembley way until we were segregated into our own ends. Now I know the papers have given all the tributes to their supporters already, one even claiming they'd won the cup for their support alone (yeah - work that one out), but I just thought their fans deserved a bit of acknowledgement for their loyal, yet gracious support. They didn't deserve to have Peter Storey and Harry 'the wheeler-dealer' Redknapp in trusting positions at their club, or a merry-go-round of chairman with no idea of how to run a football club.

To see the entire stadium decked out in blue as JT lifter the cup was superb. Most losers are half-way home by the time that happens, (I even saw some Chelsea supporters leaving before JT lifted it - HONESTLY - I couldn't believe my eyes!!)) Even after sinking a few beers and letting Wembley way clear, there were still Pompey supporters milling around, several asking the best place to go for a drink, and a few asking if they could come with us to join in our celebrations. Although very deflated after the result, they supported their club to the hilt, and for their supporters alone I hope they come straight back up, and don't end up like Leeds, who I thoroughly enjoyed singing 'we'll never play you again' to.

Hard Luck Pompey, but congratulations on your terrific support, you don't deserve what has happended to your club!

*Remeber before Roman arrived, it might easily have been us*

In portsmouth eyes ,its called Respect - a bit old fashon I know ,Chelsea have been through it as well but we can stand and respect you ,thats why we stayed - and of course made sure the world knows that no one can breack us.

there was a time on the tube at Milwall, but thats for another day !!.

Back in the good old days I fought quite a few battles with Pompey fans, in both Portsmouth and London. Most of us Chelsea fans had a lot of respect for the Pompey mob, as they were always up for a row. Even though we used to fight, I've liked Pompey fans since those days, and Fratton Park is one of those rare grounds where the atmosphere is similar to the way it was in the 70's/80's, Stoke being the only other I can think of in the Premiership.

I feel so sorry for the fans of Portsmouth, following the mis-management of their club, brings back memories of what happened to Wimbledon, though of course the circumstances were quite different.

Here's hoping you come back up real soon!

ps - if you've any old hooligans left, they can always look on the bright side - they'll be meeting up with Leeds, plus the possibilty of games against Millwall, Cardiff City and Nottingham Forest! :)

Portsmouth fans were an absolute credit to the club and on Saturday they won the praise of everybody . :D

Bluebeard , i wish i knew you all those years ago, i'd say it was great fun. :D

Cheers, hope things get better for Portsmouth.

As for the celery, it's a Chelsea tradition, one that I quite like.

To finish the season - I have renewed my season ticket and wish you alll the best for next year.

It sounds boring but we have a lot of respect for chelsea,as someone said ,you could easily be in the s**** like us.

As regards the old days of Rows, I do look back on them and smile.

My wife just thinks i am a sad git.

If Chelsea is still up for a row ,we could organise a joint mobility fight ????.

F*** spurs and I will be happy
