moi Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 (edited) I bought Stranger on the Shore for my Father, and Hey Jude for myself. These were the only ones I bought out of that list. Edited June 3, 2010 by moi
BlueBeard Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 The main reason so many singles did well in the early 60's rather than the late 60's, was the rise in popularity of the album/LP. Why buy the single when it's on the LP you just bought? Brilliant era for music though!
yorkleyblue Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 (edited) Hated the Beatles then and still do. My Mum loved the boy Jones and Engelbert. The only one on that list I ever owned was Telstar. I still got it and sometimes it even gets onto one of the jukeboxes! Edited June 3, 2010 by yorkleyblue

Spiller86 Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 The main reason so many singles did well in the early 60's rather than the late 60's, was the rise in popularity of the album/LP. Why buy the single when it's on the LP you just bought? Brilliant era for music though! I'd say that's it. I mean who needs singles when some of the greatest albums ever were put out 65-70. Why limit the fun to just a couple of songs.
