By rights shouldnt we get a guard of honour at the community shield as we won the double and broke more records ?

Usually happens on the last day of the season as far as I know, and since it was not decided yet who would be winners we did not get one from Wigan?

I dont think Wigan gave us anything, certainly not at the beginning and probably not at the end.

I would be surprised if Man Utd does a guard of honor. With a new season, I would think the mental game is about wiping the slate clean and not giving anyone respect based on what they did last year. But who knows

Yep, it happens at the end of the season when it has been confirmed you have won it.

i think im right in saying we didnt give united one in the CS last season,therefore i cant see it happening,tbh id rather just have 11 of our fans clap us onto the pitch than have that little sh*t evra clapping with an arrogant look on his face :)

I have to say when we won the title for the first time in 50 years and played their last home game of the season. And thrashed them and it has to be said we were treated with a lot of respect from the utd team and Fergie in his program notes they did a guard of honour then.

hate them as i do respect goes to them for that, wish u could say the same for their scum fans !

No way in hell will they do a guard of honour for us. We'd be lucky to get one at the end of a season, never mind at the start of a new one for achievements recorded last term.

In 04/05 Man U did it for us. Newcastle did it for us 05/06. We did it for Man U for 06/07. Don't remember what happend 07/08 and 08/09

I don't mind it when a season is over (i.e. last game of the season if the title is secured) but I am not keen on having them at the Community Shield. if I was a manager I wouldn't be allowing my players to applaud out the champions from the previous season as I would be telling them that that was in the past and they are now focused on the new season.
