Spiller86 Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Interesting angle, hope he gets it but I can't help but feel they'll be getting someone with more top flight managerial experience. In terms of his coaching career Butch is not that much more experienced than Hughton, Fulham and QPR are the teams he's been in charge of right?

rahul Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Wasnt the reason for getting rid of Hughton was that they wanted to bring in someone with more experience. I dont know how that fits with this piece of bulletin.
dkw Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 When did Butch become this super coach/manager? He was pretty rubbish in his previous efforts as manager and was lambasted as just a CAB man here in his early days, he used to get quite a bit of abuse and was mocked at times, only there as a translator and mate to the current manager. He gets let go (not sacked!!!) and suddenly he`s the reason we used to win and an integral part to the success of the club. Now thats progress...
Hutch Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Latest I've heard is that Alan Pardew is the favourite for the job. Apparently he's flying up to Newcastle today. According to the Mail among others, the appointment "could come as early as tomorrow".

Star Posted December 8, 2010 Author Posted December 8, 2010 Latest is he is in Newcastle today, appears they want him in a coaching capacity, Butch wants the managers job but that not on the table ?
Anders Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Wasn't Hughton sacked because they wanted a manager with more experience? If so, I doubt Wilkins' the man they're looking for.
