Carragher on the fast track?

Sorry to add fuel to the conspiracy theorists here, but I wanted to share the unbelievable "reporting" I saw on Sky last night (early morning news in the UK).

They had the usual "let's see what's on the back pages" section, which is fine. Then some little journo or reporter, or whatever he was, came out and spoke a mmile a minute cramming in all the news he could.

The first piece, which he spent the majority of the time talking about, was that Jamie Carragher has been selected to be fast tracked into a position of coaching for a potential future England job. This journo soon slowed down to talk about how great this was, that there wasn't a finer person in the country he could think of, and then spoke about how "Passionate" "Articulate" "leader by example" etc that Jamie was.

Ok, this sat wrong with me in a lot of ways, but lets look at each statement individually, shall we?

Point 1, Passionate: For Liverpool maybe, for portraying himself as a hard man, maybe, but for England? Not at all. I was suprised that he was recalled for the last world cup, and he performed about as good as anyone else on the team...sh*te! however, to claim that he's passionate about the England squad shows extreme levels of neglegence to the fact that this was the same player that announced he didn't want to play for England anymore, that he didn't care when England lost, and that he only cared about Liverpool. Seems like a great choice.

Point 2, Articulate: Are you kidding me? He can hardly string a sentence together, and what will his press conferences be like?

"So Jamie, after another mediocre performance, what do you have to say?"

"Well, erm, yer. Boss that ain't it. Erm. Y'know?"

Point 3, Leader by example. If he wants to inspire other kids to be semi decent footballers, who have shady ties, and have called off hits on other players (which he admits in his own farking biography) then sure.

Anyway, this reporter was loving it. And when the Sky reporter did question "by playing devils advocate" about his previous commitment to England. The journo was flabberghasted that he should ask such a question. Saying that surely the FA picking someone like Jamie is a great signal of intent, and I couldn't think of anyone better!

He then rushed through some other tripe, and finished with his "most important" article and talked about Chelsea snapping up the youngsters from throughout Europe.

What tosh!

I have never understood why the media folk take such a shining to him. Maybe they like the guy who mouths off and looks all passionate or some nonsense.

I admire some aspects of his game. But between the published threats of GBH, admitted lack of passion for his national side, hypocrisy for his national side, and how he treats his own teammates in training and in the games, I can conclude that the guy is a complete sh*tbag and if he wasnt kicking a football around binfield he would be doing it in prison somewhere.

I cant honestly believe after what he has said about England in the past anyone from the FA would want anything to do with him. Im sure all the "scouse not english" types would hope the same.

As you say, the fact they say hes passionate yet ignore how often he said he wasnt bothered if England lost shows just how one eyed they are at times. Carragher is a despicable piece of sh*t, a clogger with zero technical ability, a squealy little spitty twat. Hes about as articulate as a brick.

Fingers down throat. I really can't handle the amount of gushing press this prat gets. Mad mac and westway have expressed my feelings exactly. He's on record as saying he couldn't care less about England.

Ex-team mate has a go.

'If Liverpool had 10 players like Carragher, then they would never win anything.

'He’s like a make of ketchup or mustard to a normal person, not important. I played for Liverpool for two years and Carragher never spoke to me. That’s life, some people are like that.'

Pity the guy who's quoted is such a scumbag.
