Selling Ray Wilkins, Garry Stanley, Steve Wicks and Ken Swain to pay off debt was also why we went down.You’re right Ersk if there had been match threads, some would have blown a gasket!! We scored first in about 12 games we drew or lost. We just weren’t good enough

They also did their best, but both were at the very end of their respective distinguished careers.We took,as you say, the lead in a dozen games that we didn’t win! Agreed, we simply weren’t good enough.

My old man played Non League in Scotland and he didn’t stop smoking until after he stopped playing in his mid 30s.One of my Uncles was smoking ‘20 Senior Service a Day’ until his late 40s. He gave up smoking overnight!
