Do you know what year that was @Boyne ? I think I may have been at that game as a nipper with my Dad!

Vs Liverpool with Wegerle and Ken Monkou playing! Though that pic might look a bit earlier than that!

@Mod I found the photo on Facebook. Caption said that it was the 80s. I think it might be the game at the end of season 85-86 when the Bin Dippers won the title. Bloody Scousers. Crowd was 43,900. It was 3 May 1986. The following week we lost 5-1 at home to Watford. That game saw the debuts of Gordon Durie, John McNaught and Les Fridge. I think it was Fridge's only first team game for the Blues. As for John McNaught, a bit of a nutter on the pitch. Had problems in later years and sadly died too young.

Two workmen A Lawson and P Hickey (kneeling) at the base of the television camera platform built into a floodlighting pylon at The Bridge. This was part of Chelsea's floodlighting scheme which saw 230 floodlights erected to cover every corner of the pitch. The Greyhound Traps can clearly be seen in the background. 5th February 1957.

Great picture Ersk! 👍

Against Spurs. Tommy Baldwin up against Peters, Mullery and England. Looks like Ossie behind Peters.

It occurs to me that we entertain ‘them’ at home, penultimate match of the season. What is the likelihood that, given their current form, we could send them down? One in the eye for 1975 when loads of us were locked out and it all went wrong. Picture the scene, ‘they’ have to win to stay up, the match is tight, 0-0 up to injury time, then Stevo sprints the length of the pitch, unloads a screamer that hits the bar and bounces off their keepers back end and trickles over the line, at the Shed end in front of their fans. One can dream!
