Jimmy Greaves v Wolves 30th August 1958.

Wolves were the defending Division One Champions!

62,118 was the official attendance.

The first of a remarkable trio of five-goal blitzes for the Blues. This Greaves quintet more or less ended the career of iconic England defender Billy Wright.

He may have only been 18, but Greaves was already too hot to handle, notching a remarkable 37 league goals despite the team’s struggles in 1958/59.

The brilliant Jimmy Greaves goes for goal in 1959

Jimmy scores one of his five goals!

Gerry Harris and Billy Wright of Wolves are both beaten, as Jimmy Greaves turns away after netting one of his goals.

With Malcolm Finlayson, Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper, on the ground and their centre-half, Billy Wright (centre), running in, the ball goes to Chelsea inside-right Jimmy Greaves (l) to score during the First Division match at Stamford Bridge, London. Stock Photo

GOAL magazine Chelsea STEWART HOUSTON Ipswich Town DAVID BEST ...Pin on Football - The Glory Years

Happy Birthday to Stewart Houston,77 years young today.

My old man helped run the Port Glasgow Rangers, a youth team Stewart Houston played for in the West of Scotland. We had a very good scouting network in the West of Scotland back in the mid 1960s.

He'd a decent career at Man Utd after leaving us . Moving to them after a short spell at Brentford.

That's Ian Hutchinson, not Stewart Houston.

Apologies if this has already been pointed out.

We need to alert that publication (Goal?) and get them to correct their mistake.
