Who did we play at SB on 21st April 1980? What was the game in aid of? I believe we lost 1-0 and Jimmy Greaves scored. It was the only first team game I missed for 5 years. Something's can not be opted out of for football.

Did anyone else go to the 8-2 at Brentford? What a brilliant night it was. Seem to remember Droy scoring a brace.

Can't find any record of that match, but wasn't that was the period that you thought we played Stoke after being knocked out of the cup? Chelsea were due to play Brighton in a friendly on 27 January 1979 but this was postponed due to the pitch being waterlogged, so maybe we played at Plough Lane instead? Shame you haven't got the programme!

Nice to "meet" you. Please don't hold back on your opinion of refs. I don't! I justify this by the fact that the big name in reffing when I got my badge was Clive Thomas. I can't even type his name out without wanting to swear. The tendency to criticise has been with me ever since!

the Blue crush barriers show it was after 81/82 Bates had them painted blue in the summer of 82 said why yellow. The scoreboard was not built to season 83/84. If thats Newcastle it could be 84/85 when Newcastle had just that section where in 83/84 the 4 0 game Newcastle had the 2 middle sections

I never thought about the size of the crowd!,I just noted the adverts,scoreboard etc.

Back on the Wimbledon issue. Yes the game that may or may not have been played was supposed to have been at Plough Lane, 25 January 1979. The programmes exists, it is for Wimbledon v "a Chelsea XI". Could just have been the reserves, but surely someone knows?
