A big thanks to all of you posting these matches. This is wonderful and I have enjoyed sitting through some of this with my dad. Sadly there just isn't enough time to watch it all. I've really enjoyed watching the Wigan FA Cup replay from '85. It was one of the earlier games my dad took me to and that I can remember as I'd reached 9 years old by then. Thanks again everyone.

I don't suppose there is any footage from either Rotherham at home, April 83 or of Walker's goal at Bolton in May 83 is there?

I don't suppose anybody's got footage of the home game against Man.Utd in 67/68? It was a 1-1 draw, and I seem to remember Tommy Baldwin scoring with a bullet header at the Shed end. Mind you, the way my memory is lately it was probably a tap in by Osgood at the other end!

Memory is still intact mate, it was Baldwin and Kidd.

I will whack it on later today when If I get five minutes :good2:

IMO the best post so far. What a fantastic match on a bog of a pitch, Man Utd in their European Cup winning prime and a massive crowd boosted by a huge Red Army turnout. Thanks for this, brilliant.

Before my time but what a great match and atmosphere, didnt know the score before hand which made watching even better, and now i can relate to the song,ie last verse. They came down to chelsea in 69,they filled up the north stand the shed and both sides, but chelsea were many, too many to ruck, and the great man utd got battered to f**k.

Is this a bot? 15,990 postings, an average of 10.82 per day..... and born in 1911? Hmmmmm

OOPs! I don't actually know what a bot is (I assume you're not referring to my nether regions). I lie about my age! Sometimes I'm younger thna I really am, sometimes I'm older. And now I'm so old I've forgotten how to change the details on my profile!

I've just been informed by a young friend who understands modern speak that a bot is an automated robot. How could you imagine that a robot could do my job?

P.S. And correct my typos!

Update on Jimmy. Turns out the stroke was a couple of weeks ago but it was hushed up. The news broke when he was released this weekend. He has been operated on, lost a stone and says he feels great.

Derek Johnstone

Moved from Rangers to Chelsea for about £30,000 in Nov 1983. Played I think 2 games for first team, moved back to Rangers in Jan 1985 for £25,000

A shadow of the striker who was rated at £450,000 in summer of 1978 after scoring 41 goals. 39 for Rangers and 2 for Scotland.

Glad to hear he's on the mend.
