What's going on when it comes to transfers?.When a new manager comes in it's normal for him to target 'his' type of players from his old club, with the full support of his 'new' chairman, that bit I fully understand.

But lately, we have been linked with everyone and his dog who's worth more than £20million quid or so,players like Modric,Pastore,Sanchez,Sneijder & co.

The thing is,all these players have only suddenly become 'must have' players after moving for relativity modest sums to their present clubs & showing all and co what they can do.What happend to scouting?,all the top clubs have their scouts in all parts of the world, how is it possible that a player like Sanchez can go to a club,(with no disrespect meant),like Udinese unnoticed?.

Is it possible that top agents put their clients into 'lesser' clubs to show what they can do,(and have always done),keeping them away from the top clubs and then once brought to those clubs attention, they can then start an inflated bidding war for their clients services which would never have happened if the player concerned had been allowed to join the said top clubs in the first place.

Is it possible that a group of top football agents are in control of the worlds top talented players & therefore controlling the value/movement of those players??,or am I just being cynical?.

my take on this is I fully believe Guss was the man Roman wanted and Guss was on his way and he had indicated which players he would like. Now we have Villa Boas the process must start over again.

This is the 'silly season' for the football media. With no meaningful games to report on they make up vast amounts and just quote 'unnamed sources', because they have pages to fill. I'm sure we have our eyes on several of the players we've been linked with, but most of what is printed is sheer speculation, nothing more.

I'd say that's very possible.

Agents are ridiculously powerful, so you have every right to be cynical about their role in controlling the market and movement of players

I'd also say that some players are being chased because the board/ RA would like to see them playing for us. In other words, our targets are not limited to who the manager wants.

What I like is that it is all very quiet in the CFC corner despite the media trying to find stories that are just not there...no doubt there is a blockbuster move being created by our backroom boys...after all we have a few weeks left yet...

Just because the press write their Sh*t,I don't think it covers up whats going on.Sanchez has a 'buy out' clause in his contract that's worth millions, but thats only because that he is now in the headlights of all the top clubs, this would not have been the case if he had moved to say, Chelsea in the first place. The only winners are his agent/Udinese,the losers will be the club/fans that buy him.

He's got one season to win trophies else he's out the door. Scouts are useless at this moment in time.

Who has?

All the rumours are boring as hell anyway, might as well just wait and see what happens. It's far more interesting to be surprised by a deal than to know it's going to happen for weeks on hand due to papers anyway. E.g. the AVB deal in the first place.
