Torres is injured apparently, have no idea what the status is on it but this is a massive blow if its something serious..

Torres injured, looks like his ankle. If it's his ligaments then that's very bad news.

Subbed after 14 minutes with calf? injury in the friendly against Italy, substituted for Llorente.

Bad, bad news, just when he was regaining form too. How will this affect Villas-Boas build up to the new season, and our transfers?

Source? the spain game, walked off after 15 mins replaced by Llorente

Oh right, hopefully its not to bad then :JC_doubledown:

Accidentally started thread on this too but don't know how to delete it... if one of the Moderators would be so kind as to!

Ehm, this is bad, bad news, I think we definitely need new signings now, one of the main reasons I was previously unconcerned about new blood was that I felt he was finally getting back to the top of his game... if this is serious I'm quite worried for next season

by JoeTweeds He's not injured. He has some ear problems. He couldn't hear and felt he was about to faint. He's better now

Dont know if thats a joke or not, someone claimed to have seen that torres asked the manager to get taken off though.

Seems to have been a concussion from the sounds of it, so should be ok for the weekend unless a scan finds something.

According to TVE (Spanish TV) Torres suddenly went deaf after a clash of heads. Was slightly disoriented and confused in the locker room. Ok now but having CAT scan as a precaution.

F'ing useless friendlies.

Any head injury no matter how severe makes me shudder after what happened to Cech.

Hope Torres is fine and not going to miss any games. (or at least only the match against stoke)

Hope he's alright and recovers soon. Probably won't start against Stoke but Drogba's not a bad back up!

I dont think he would have started anyway, against Stoke I would think we would fight fire with fire and have Drogba in to batter their defence with Torres coming on later in the game once they have been softened up.

On the brink of a new season, could there honestly be a more ridiculous time to hold a series of pointless international friendlies?

Some time ago FIFA announced that they were going to substantially increase the number of international friendlies per season. Did I say pointless? Not quite. More money and more kudos for FIFA, that's the point.
