Buck on the radio

Featured Replies

Just heard Bruce Buck on the radio, these are the main points he has made.

"We're looking at the transfer market, we don't want to talk about Modric but something could still happen"

"We still haven't got to the bottom of Torres' form, but we're optimistic. "

"Drogs still very much part of our plans Sturridge has done superbly in pre-season.Original thought was to send him on loan but he's stayin"

" we have to think about the option of moving stadium, but nothing is on the table at the moment."

so he didn't say much then!

He did say Studge is staying at the club and not going on loan, which is quite significant.

He also said that contrary to popular belief, the Champions League is not the Holy Grail, either for Roman Abramovich or for Chelsea FC, which just goes to prove yet again, that when it comes to what goes on behind the scenes at the club, the press in general do nothing more or less than make it up as they go along.

Theres a difference between Terry saying he thinks Sturridge could be first name on the team sheet and the Club Chief Exec stating Sturridge definitely isnt going anywhere. I just thought it was good news, I neednt have bothered it seems.

Sorry if I came across a bit dismissive there, I just mean to say that I didn't really think that matter was really in doubt.

Of course it's good news, but it's confirming something strongly suspected, he didn't say anything majorly out of the blue which seems fitting with the new management, we're playing our cards very close to our chests.

Good name for a band that

I'm trying to decide what they'd sound like. I ove TV on the Radio, and Jeff BUCkley, but not sure they'd mix well

that has already come out...as for champs league, i don't believe him on that either...e.g why else do you hire carlo who has won more champions leagues than league titles and sack him a year after he's won the double...something to do with four straight defeats against inter and utd me thinks...

just saying buck is a typical suit who says very little (doesn;t want to upset the paymaster)...he annoys me actually...I heard some of it myself and he said before roman came along chelsea were a team that finished mid-table and didn't challenge...as a supposed chelsea fan he somehow forgot the four trophies we won between 97-2000 and the fact we'd been regularly in top six since 1997

1) Carlo was a good coach, the best available of all the big names.

2) Of course Carlo's sacking had nothing to do with the abysmal failures around November-February during both seasons of his tenure.

3) Would you rather our management be like Madrid or Barcelona's, where all dealings are spread among the front pages of the gossip rags and every man and his dog wants to have a pop in the media?

that's my point though...he doesn't need to say anything...so why pretend to inform the fans when you're clearly just knocking every question back like any politician...if it does it for you great...I just think he adds nothing...and we have to agree to disagree on carlo...in my view he was clearly hired to win the champions league

That's fair enough. I guess I much prefer the board's political doublespeak because it keeps our affairs out of the papers. At first I was entranced by the Kenyon and Mourinho circus, mainly because it was so different to our managers prior, but during our second season I hated the whole thing, as all it did was feed the addiction to gossip of a rabid media.

He also forgot we were a CL club when Roman bought us, and we'd previously come within a whisker of reaching the semis in that tournament.

I agree with you about Buck. Why say we still haven't got to the bottom of Torres' form? What a stupid thing for him to say. It's not his job to get to the bottom of it, it's the manager's. If asked about Torres all he should say is "We're perfectly happy with Torres' form". His quote is unlikely to be welcomed by Torres or the management, the only people it will please are the media, who have another quote with which to apply more pressure to our striker, as if that's what he needs.

Brucey Baby, if you're not going to say anything helpful or informative...

Shut up.

There's a good lad.
