I follow @Trojanrecords, and they just "tweeted" (I hate using that word)

"A long day spent sorting parts for February's releases and finalising the track-listing for a King-Sized release due out later this year."

Personally, I am looking forward to this King-Sized release, so wanted to let others know and maybe use this as a place to keep those of us interested up to date what's happening.

Thanks

Scott

Haven't Trojan scraped the bottom of the barrel quite a few times? Don't get me wrong there has been some great music released on Trojan, but they are the masters of recycling

I can see what you mean with scraping the bottom of the barrel, but I like that they release the old albums on CDs as well (I don't have a turntable). They quite often seem to pack those releases full of bonus tracks, or sometimes even bonus discs like for example the expanded editions of Johnny Osbourne and the Sensations' "Come Back Darling" and Symarip's "Skinhead Moonstomp" that I have. The Johnny Osbourne album was originally just twelve songs(around 30 minutes), but the expanded CD edition has two discs crammed full of music. The first disc includes the full original album and 19 bonus tracks, while the second disc has 30 tracks. You could certainly say that they're scraping the bottom of the barrel when you consider that most of the songs aren't Johnny Osbourne and the Sensations songs, but just songs from the same era that Winston Riley(the producer of the original album) had produced. Although the bonus tracks have very little(or nothing) to do with the original album, I like many of them, so I'm happy with it. And I think the Symarip album originally had just twelve songs as well, but the CD reissue has two discs, both of which have 23 songs(some previously unreleased), but this time they're actually all Symarip songs. I'm just glad that they're still releasing the old records.

Ooohh, this could be good. It could also be sh*t though, as Tim W said.

The only concern I have is that there was a REASON why a lot of those tracks weren't released the first time around. And I LOVE Trojan records, have shedloads of singles and albums and BOTH the original Trojan Story compliation sets.

cool,

seems as if we have enough people interested to keep one another abreast (steady Moi) of any updates

Didn't really mean sh*t, more fully exploiting every note ever laid down on tape.
