The Shed

Please, for all that's holy, get away fans out of the Shed.

Watching Chels beat manure in the League cup was spoilt by the site of those manc wanabes filling the Shed.

What it is now,is a shadow of what it once was, maybe times change but even so,there is no excuse for the state of things now.

The Kop is still for the dippers, the Stretford end still the place of choice for northern manc bellends,so why surrender the Shed?.

I've seen quite a few games at WHU's North Bank terrace years back and like us with the Shed, they have now sold out to away fans.

And just look at the fortunes of the West Ham bar stewards.

Put away fans in the West stand upper tier,or maybe the top tier of the East stand,(or on the roof for what I care),but for all that matters,GET THEM OUT OF THE SHED.

Yes indeed it always was a special place back in the day

Whilst I do agree with you, I am not sure where would be best to put them. The West upper seems the best option but away fans are vital in creating a good atmosphere. Obviously they shouldn't get the best seats but if they are stuck up in a corner nearer to the clouds than the pitch you lose the catalyst to a lot of the banter and singing. The highest most distant seats should be set aside for all the damn middle class hangers on and the foreign tourists who contribute little other than camera flashes.

The Matthew Harding has been the home of the most die hard fand since the mid 90's now so due to my age (28) I have always been used to that being 'our end', even though I know The Shed has the history.

I hate away fans being in the Shed though and in an ideal world it would be amzing to have both the Shed and the Matthew Harding as home ends with the away fans tucked away in the gods but I can't see it happening.

They would never give West or East upper seats to away fans as they are the best and most expensive seats in the house.

We wouldn't want them in the West Lower as then they would be seen on TV and it would appear that the Bridge was full of red when we play Unietd or Arsenal etc.

The only other place I could see them going is the East lower but taht is where they always were before Jose moved them to the shed as he said it was bad for moral having all the away fans behind the dugouts abusing the players etc- and I can see his point to be fair.

The club have been asked this many times and every time the answer is the same. Im sure you can research the answer that Buck has given at least 10 times that i alone have seen.

Its not going to happen, thats where the club want them.

I've said for years & even emailed the club about it(didnt get a reply) imo1,300 away fans should be in the east lower next to the mhl, where needed for the bigger away supports the other 1,300 should get the mhl east stand corner, that way away fans will get restricted view tickets instead of home fans which is a piss take at the moment, the atmosphere would increase, they have done it once before with away fans in the mhl east stand corner when Watford were put in there.

There's no way away fans should be in any upper ties(west/east) as we'd never see them & the atmosphere would be even worse.

It' is a tricky problem because of the history. Based on the ground now, the Shed End is the best place for them. As some has already said, the MH stand has taken over as the de facto end for the "hardcore" fans.

The atmosphere in the League Cup match was fantastic and for United to bring a full compliment of 6,000 on a Wednesday evening so soon after the League match was a good effort (notwithstanding most only had to get there from Kingston!)

In my youth, it was normal for there to be a home end and an away end in most grounds. That is certainly the most conducive way to create a good atmosphere.

Hate to say it & i've said it a few times now i thought Utds support was class in the cup(goes to wash mouth out)

I still think my idea would increase the atmosphere loads becasue like you say the mh is now our main vocal end, so imagine that with 1,300 away fans in the corner & east lower.
