At a club level this is probably good enws for Chelsea but on a personal level it is a real shame for Wayne.

Over the course of their entire careers I'm sure there are plenty of arguments about who is the better full back out of Bridge and Cole however based purely on what we have seen this season (and selections should be based on form at domestic and international level) surely nobody thinks Cole (when fit) is the correct choice ahead of Bridge in either the Chelsea or England team.

A real shame Bridge isn't going to get the chance to show his worth at international level.
