Hi Krc- fan

Over the recent years, I have taken a slight interest in Belgium football, mainly through FIFA and FM. Sad I know, but this is the way of modern football.

I like the league's focus on youth and much of the great work has gone unnotice for several years. Moreover, I like the opportunity the league presents to African players and gives a lot a great stepping stone into major European leagues.

A few questions:

What happened to Beerschot? I loved the purple boys from Antwerp. I know they went bankrupt, but how did they liquidate so quickly? Also what happened to players such as Wyjutens and Ozturk?

How do you rate players like Mboyo and Kouyate? I've heard rumours linking them to the Prem. Could they make the grade?

Regards

Friendly greetings from Genk!

Yes. I like it too, Butterhampton FC!

Hi, Mactheknife!

Welcome on this thread! You loved the purple boys from Antwerp, my friend? Wauw! Now I'm curious. Didn't know they have ...

Beerschot, Mactheknife.

No, really. that's a sad story.

I don't know the real story. But it's a shame for all those fans. Beerschot has a lot of fans. Good fans. Loyal fans. I think, that the club wasn't ready for the modern times. Like you wrote. 'Modern football'. Modern football is not always a gift. It's necessary that you have people with a club soul and that those people have some money. There bond with Ajax was not good. The youth like Jan vertongen, Thomas Vermaelen, and Toby Alderweireld left to Amsterdam and suddenly there was a black hole in the evolution from Beerschot. To many decision makers. And sometimes nobody that clearly bears the responsibility. To many expensive players. No vision. And than you have the rivalry with FC Antwerp, The Great Old. In this case, rivalry brings no better results. And that's a pity for a city like Antwerp.

Dries Wuytens and his brother Stijn plays with Willem II in The Netherlands, Mactheknife.

Alpaslan Oztürk plays for Standard Liege. He's a Belgian youngster but has recently chosen for Turkey.

Cheikhou Kouyaté is very good player. Indeed. According to the rumors, Arsenal. In january.

Ilombo Mboyo must stay longer in Genk, Mactheknife. We need him. No discussion possible!

But I'll  give you a tip. Kara Mbodj is one to follow.

But please.

Not this year beloved neighbours from the UK. Please. Not this year. And we want lots of money. Yep. A lot!

Tempora mutantur et nos mutamtur in illis, Mactheknife!

International football.

I saw a very, very good Japan in our Cristal Arena, yesterday. Against Holland. That Honda guy is a great player!

And, I saw a very, very, very good Colombia. I was satisfied about The Red Devils. We lost, but we also could have won, Butterhampton FC.

And!

And!

I see it now!

Congratulations, Moi!

Yes Beerschot have had some very talented players sold for very little. On top of the three defenders who went to Ajax there are the likes of Dembele and more recently, Wanyama who was sold for very little. Think, £900,000 in 2011 and then Celtic sold him for £13 million 2 years later. How did city rivals Antwerp hinder Beerschot?

You think Kara can make it in the prem? Also how do you know he wants a lot of money? Also, are there any other youth players at Genk who have massive potential?

Ah Ozturk is at Standard. So that means he'll be winning the Pro League this season then?

Friendly greetings from Genk!

Well. I found a thread specially for 'a lady who helps to make the forum a brighter place' (words: Chippy)

and that thread has 3 pages fans.

So. That's why my Commission has taken the initiative to ask me to mark some friendly words in black, Moi.

Yep. Kara can make it in the Prem, Mactheknife. He'll certainly leave us. Almost every week we have some scouts for him.

And that's why 'we' want some good money!

Uhm. No. I don't think that Oztürk will ...

Well. The city Antwerp needs a big team and not two teams with a lot of financial problems. I think that would be better. Modern football, you know? But a fusion is impossible. Unmentionable.

Like it wrote before. Modern football is not easy. Yes. We have some good youth and the international football market knows that. It's not easy to keep them. I'm very happy that Siebe Schrijvers stays now. But we've lost Dennis Praet and Alper Ademoglu. That will be an unbelievable good one. Don't forget him. Alper Ademoglu! And we've lost Yannick Ferreira Carrasco (Monaco). Also someone for the Prem, Mactheknife. I hope he'll get a invitation from Marc Wilmots soon. Very good player.

Our youth.

They came home last weekend.

Was that a Scottish pronunciation, Moi?

As you know I love Belgian players already Krc-fan so it is probably no surprise that I am a big fan of Ferreira Carrasco. He was great for Monaco during their promotion campaign last year and he scored a great brace against Saint-Etienne, I am pretty sure it was them, during this season. I expect big things from him in the future.

Good choice, Butterhampton FC!

Me too. I expect some great things from him. However.

Don't know if it's good. Expecting. The world seems to expect a lot from our boys, nowadays. They're still youngsters and the pressure gets higher and higher. Gives me a little bit worry.

Watch Kevin. All those things about Kevin is such a shame. That's not good for him. I hope that it will end soon.

Almost every day another rumour.

We had a little survey last week, Butterhampton FC.

Who gets a ticket for Brasil?

www.sporza.be/cm/sporza/extra/games/131105_rd_brasil_23namen

Yannick almost. Jelle Vossen is on the plane. Of course, I would say.

Jelle!

Jelle and Kevin and Christian Benteke! Those were the days in Genk, my friend  !

Nothing is unrealistic, Butterhampton FC. Everything is possible in life!

(Even a thread title change on The Shed End.)

And so is football. Out of condition, injuries, not playing in the team like Kevin at this moment, other tactics, ...

Everything can change so unbelievable fast

Thorgan! Yep. Correct. He has definitley got a lot of potential. Someone for 2016. That's for sure.

That's a good title, Mod!

Thank you!

So it is. Unrealistic and possible. Even a 4-0 lost in Ostend. Probably our greatest club shame in the last twenty years. Unbelievable.

(Jordan Lukaku played well.)

London.

London's big, dirty and expensive. You can't really afford to drive in central London and the Public Transport (underground trains, overground trains and buses) are busy and not always reliable. The overground trains are expensive if you live outside of London and get them to work and back. The underground and Tube are more reasonably priced.

On the plus side, there's so much to see and do in London that it's hard to be bored. Even a small area of central London can take a long time to discover as there is a mass of people, buildings, etc.

If you work in central London you can find yourself caught up in a stupid rush to get from your train to your office, etc. You can sometimes be on a tube platform and see a guy miss a train. There'll be another train due two minutes later and the guy'll be freaking out.

Anyway, a great place overall but I wouldn't like to live there all my life as it's too hectic after a while.

Yes London, capital city of England, and my birthplace, born in Battersea, Queenstown Road, my parents decided to move to the greener pastures of a small town when I was 18 months old, so I have no knowledge of living there, but it is typical that I always said to my cousin that I wished I was him, living in London like he was, but he wished he was me, living surrounded by green fields and plenty of exciting places to explore as kids.

Now a days I am glad I never grew up London great city to visit and spend a little time there, but not my idea of of a place to enjoy childhood or adulthood come to that, especially in the heart of the city, today it is a place that is way way too expensive to live unless you have a very high paying employment, so in conclusion, great to visit not to live.

Yes I don't live in a great part of London in terms of Transport links and activities as I live in Eltham in the South East. When I was younger, I always thought London would be the place I would spend my whole life, albeit in a different area.

There are many positives to London: Great live music, fantastic array of sports and teams, good parks, many tourist activites which are fun to do once in a while as a resident, great shops, fantastic bars, reliable transport system and above all WORLD CLASS employment opportunities. Despite the economic down turn of the last 5 years, London has remained in economic growth.

Though there are negatives: Ridiculously expensive property market, expensive in everything else, over crowded, poor communities and people with a lost sense of reality. Like Spud said, you can see somebody have to wait for a tube for 2 minutes and freak out (I can be one of them).

See for me, the aspects of the nightlife and bars aren't really that appealing to me. The London lifestyle is fun, but you can spend years talking to somebody and never really know them. People are very self centred (complete generalisation) but they really are compared to other areas. I like London not for what it offers, but because my mates are there. But at the same time, I would have mates no matter where I grew up, so what I like about London I would like about anywhere. Having lived in other areas, I have preferred them as I have made mates who I enjoy being around and I don't have the cons of London, whilst I don't miss the pros like the great shops, bars and activities.

I see my future away from London, it is a great city, but it's not for me. My old man has lived there for 30 years and has no friends in London really, only acquaintances at work. He has plenty of other friends, but not made from his time in London. Pretty sad really. I think it is more a London thing than a personality defect on his side. He is, despite being from Middlesbrough, so tied up in the London way of living. The place is just full of posers and that is quite hard to stomach at times.

Look great great city. If you get the opportunity to live or work here, don't turn it down, it can be top draw for you. I do love it for the most part and you never know, I may live there forever. But I think many of the aspects of it are overrated. Would much rather be at the pub with my mates than out at a Michelin Star restaurant.

Horses for courses and all that.
