FAO Chelsea supporters

Doing a bit of market research.

For merchandising purposes, I'm wondering if Chelsea fans in general have any interest in some of the old club crests on merchandise (mugs etc) or if only the new ones are relevant to supporters.

For example, would the old Chelsea pensioner crest on a mug be desired?

Cheers.

I'll throw my two cents worth.

Initially I was sceptical, because a mug I envisage that as tacky.

But as a concept. Yeah I still like the old badges on certain things. But there would have to be a degree of authenticity with the correct fonts and patterns matching the time from which the logo was from

The old crests will be sought after yes.

I still have loads of 90's gear with the emblem ect.

Yeah I have old kits and stuff. Would love some flags and pennants from years gone by. Really would only look for original merchandise. It is unclear what you are doing research for, thus it is difficult to give a clear answer

It's going to be higher-end quality stuff. Not your standard fare. Can't give too much away just now, but may post some prototypes on here at some stage in the next few months to get feedback.

mactheknife - we won't be selling actual vintage flags/strips etc unfortunately - well who knows further down the line, but not initially.

We're starting off with mugs and glassware, but as I said, different to the standard fare. We feel this market in particular is very weak in tems of quality. A standard mug with a transfer might be ok to give a kid, but you can't really give it to an adult as a genuine gift.

Will be doing this properly with club permission etc. Not just selliing from a stall

Any thoughts on posters with QR codes depicting scenes from Chelsea's past. ie. 97 FA cup, 2012 CL etc

Thanks for your input.

Personally, I love the kits and badges from the mid-60's to the late '70's - apart from the red away strip of course. I'd love to have a Chelsea mug in the proper royal blue with the crest from that era on it, that'd be real classy!

This is exactly what we're going for - also the modern crests. Trying to keep the colours right which is easier said than done when not cheating with transfers!

Hoping it will all be designed and made in the UK too.

Completely hand made.

I see Loz and others are already clamouring for free stuff :face_palm: . We'll see what we can do. It won't be for a fair few weeks/months as the current prototype is based on another club. I know, I know...other clubs! boo!

Any thoughts with regards to posters with QR codes?  poster depicts an important event at Chelsea, scan code with smart device which takes you to the clip?.  just floating ideas.
