It is not a question of one over the other, we should play teams on merit, as just recently we have treated ever team like they are Barcelona once

we go a goal in front, yes every team deserves respect, but not every team is Barcelona, RM or Bayern.

This for me.

Not playing each team on its merits and being one dimensional - be that all out attack or set up to counter or be defensive - would have meant us not winning the CL in 2012 and Liverpool winning the league last year.

I'll take what we have now thanks. The lack of end product for us recently is down to certain players being out of form, not our style of play.

What is attractive football out of interest ?

Personally having played in defence these are the players I watch more closely than attackers , I probably enjoy a 1-0 away win where the back four and keeper have all put in top draw shifts under massive pressure than a 5-0 win over Yeovil where each goal is scored after 22 passes 3 step overs and 4 Cruyff turns....

The AC Milan team of 87-89 are , in my opinion , the best club football team in the last 30 years . With out doubt the best team in Europe at the time who only lost 1 game in 2 seasons. Plenty of 1-0 wins in that record , where they attractive to watch ? at times but it was a defence first mentality ,

Obviously different people have their own conceptions for what attractive football is. But in our case, the question is provoked by parking the bus. No matter in what form we are, no matter what kind of players we have - in crucial moments we will park the bus. As we did in Manchester earlier this season(twice), in Paris, against Burnley, PSG at the Bridge, Liverpool etc..

This is the dilemma. Not Wenger or Jose...

To me it's what we played up until Christmas and then more sporadically until stopping after the Swansea game.

We aren't going to be Barcelona, but we have our own style which is based on defensive resilience, pace and power throughout the spine of the team and the ability to break with speed and accuracy. With Fabregas I think we also have another string to our bow where we can pass our way through teams and there are plenty of performances in the first half of the season that exemplify that.

For me, the pinnacle of this style would probably be the Arsenal 6-0 match. Pressing high up the pitch, exploiting space in transition and being clinical whilst also being strong at the back.

If playing pretty but losing makes you happy then I'm glad for you.

The original question was " What's more important"

Winning will always but more important than style to most fans.

I would put style 3rd behind winning  and the effort/commitment/ passion

So what did you mean? And it's hardly an attack, if you post an opinion you do know others can disagree.

Haha, calling my post daft and it's not an attack. Okay man you win.

Where did I say your post was daft, I said those sentences were daft, and they are.

Ive found games where we are defending to the hilt and countering like lightening to be some of the most exciting/entertaining games Ive seen aside from 6-0 romps.

Attractive isnt always entertaining football (if I had to list the most boring games Ive seen, Barca would feature a lot.  50 passes between the back 5  apparently  is"attractive" but it sure isn't entertaining to me)and entertaining football isnt always attractive (too many examples from our own team to point out, how about the 2012 CL run?)
