Kudos to Hazard and TBo. Hazard again was sublime and a great goal to boot. TBo despite his clanger redeemed himself with the triple saves.

But I've given my vote to Remy. Up to the moment he scored, at that time we never looked like getting a goal from anyone else on the pitch. Fair do's to him, he got himself in a position and didn't faff about. No hesitation, just struck it. A bit lucky but at least he took a chance.

As much as I enjoy watching Costa play and grateful for the goals he's scored, his movement is great but I have to say his first touch lately has been pretty crap. From what I've seen of Remy, which isn't a lot obviously, his movement is good and his control appears to be a lot better.

He now deserves a longer run of games.

I like Rémy too but who would you drop to fit him in? He can only play up front or on the left. The options are either:

1) Have him as lone striker, which would mean dropping Costa who (in my opinion) is by far the better all-round player;

2) Play him on the left, which would mean dropping or moving Hazard who is our best player by some distance;

3) Switch to a two-man attack which would mean sacrificing a man in the middle, not ideal considering how much trouble we've had in controlling the midfield of late, or both wingers, which isn't ideal either considering our full-backs had enough trouble covering their ground yesterday.

I would certainly consider putting him in ahead of Willian, Oscar or Ramires. I know it would mean tweaking formations but none of these 3 have done enough to warrant automatic selection recently.

Not for the big, tight games but against most sides we could take out our number 10 and play remy with Costa. Giving Costa the deeper role of the two, like jimmy and eidur did. Costa likes to run about and drift, had a great engine on him and can arrive late in the box. Remy can stay up to to push the defensive line back.

Be nice to see it to see if it works.

The problem with playing two up front (even a 4-4-1-1) is that it would push Hazard back to some sort of left midfield role, which would restrict his attacking movement and would also give him more defensive responsibilities which he isn't well-suited to. Clearly he is our most dangerous attacking player, but the beauty of playing Oscar and Willian, even if they aren't the most inspiring creators in the league, is that it completely unleashes Hazard as they provide balance and cover on the other side and in the middle of the pitch.

It is possible that something like this would work:

---------------------------Courtois

Ivanovic---------Zouma------Terry--------Luis/Azpi

-----------------------------Matic

----------------Ramires----------Fabregas

----------------------------Hazard

-----------------Costa---------------Rémy

I don't think you're wrong to say nobody deserves an automatic place, but if we were simply to play our best 11 players we would end up fielding two goalkeepers, like José said.

The only [relatively] balanced XI with Rémy up front which I can imagine is the one above, but that would mean retaining Ramires in the first XI as we would need a shuttler in midfield, as well as someone to provide cover for Ivanovic on the right, who would have to provide all of our attacking thrust from the right-hand side. I'm not sure we'd even be able to keep Azpilicueta in the first XI as we would be too narrow without someone giving us width on the left too.
