Not a mention of Costa who played a part in Hazard's goal, scored a brilliant one himself, and had a pretty good game.

MOTM goes to Hazard though. Not just our best player, but our best player by a margin.

Courtois was good but I don't think he made any saves that I wouldn't normally expect from him. More than made up for his error though.

Filipe Luis for me. Didn't stop working, put in a couple of nice balls and shut down that left-flank.

He didn't get back into position quick enough for the first goal for me.

Fair enough, and maybe I'm overrating him a bit because he hasn't played so long but look so calm and composed. Could've gone for Eden (as usual) or Costa whose goal and assist were both perfect. Felt none of Thibaut's saves was that hard to be honest, and Hull seemed to be aiming for him but he recovered well from his error and commanded his area absolutely brilliantly.

Although i agree that JT is far better than Cahill i think it's harsh to say it's embarrassing. You'll find it very hard to find any better CB's than Terry and there aren't that many that are anywhere near as good as him either.

I do think that if you put Terry in Cahill's position you would soon notice that Terry would also struggle. Cahill was fine in the second half today, because he only had to focus on his job. He looked poor in the first half because he was once again getting no help from Ivanovic. Cahill is often needed to cover for himself and Ivanovic.

We'll have to agree to differ mate. I'm not a huge fan of Cahill. Like his attitude just don't think he's top level and I'd rather see Zouma in the side.

I've no doubt Zouma will be ahead of him next season.

Keep expecting the club to announce they have received the ransom note for Matic. He was obviously kidnapped at the end of January and the club are hiding it by playing his mediocre twin brother most weeks since then.

Yup, he's gone really off the boil.

Edit: In his defence, this is his first full season in England and he's had to play almost every game, pressure games, and it seems to have taken a toll.

Yup, he's gone really off the boil.

The real worry is, is if he isn't winning those midfield battles and laying the ball off quickly and accurately, he offers little else. Not got great pace, not got a great range of passing, not hugely creative and surprisingly for someone with his height, not that dangerous in the air. N'doye made him his toy bitch this afternoon.

Ivanovic's pass back was worse than I thought but Courtois' mistake was also worse than I thought. He really should, and could have booted it. Without that mistake he'd be MOTM hands down. Still the top GK in the prem.

Re: Cahill I think hes left in a difficult spot between someone who doesn't actually defend anymore and a 36 year old with no pace that forces our defensive line all the way back as soon as we lose the ball.

Luis had a shocker defensively. Conceded 3 fairly guilt edged chances through poor positional play. Not easy to come into a game like that having not started for a while I suppose, but it was thoroughly unconvincing stuff. And he was our best fullback today.

Anyway, Hazard.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing that. I like Cahill, but i don't think at this stage in his career he is going to get any better, Zouma is different though. I think if Zouma can get a full season or 2 playing next to someone as good as JT he can become something special.

Hazard. Pulled the trigger early for a change, and Costa followed suit. So refreshing. Let's forget trying to walk the ball in from now on

I still believe we didnt shoot enough, I think we still only had 3 shots on target which resulted in our 3 goals

Why on earth do these guys dont shoot more often

Hazard (again), not his best performance but he got us ahead within a minute and was our best attacking player. Honourable mention to Costa.

I don't agree with those who are voting for Courtois. He was flawless in the second half but was ultimately (mostly - Ivanovic's backpass did him no favours, but he could still comfortably have stuck it out of play) responsible for us being pegged back in the first place. Very poor decision-making in that single instance, but the level of shock it generated is a testament to his generally brilliant quality. Certainly I haven't lost an iota of faith in him but I think he could stand to improve his footwork.

I agree, I qualified my choice of Tibo acknowledging his youthful error and then how impressed I was with that triple quick succession set of saves.

I do hope it is just a blip Just. Have to admit, there were games earlier in the season he was absolutely everywhere. Yesterday, there were times I even forgot he was on the pitch.
