Oh dear!  I hang my head in shame even more!  Look, I was a zombie, probably not knowing what day it was.......... Tbh it's just as likely I watched it and don't remember it.

 

The mists of time. I was there and I don't remember very much about it. It's odd what you remember from matches though. When we beat Barcelona 3-1 at home I was sat in the Shed and saw three goals pop in before half-time. Do I remember them? Do I f**k.

 

What I do remember is how bow-legged Rivaldo's legs were. Seriously, the guy had like a 4-inch thigh gap.

 

I must've seen hundreds of home games in the 1990s and yet the things I remember most are how Erland Johnson would always come in from warming-up sweating bullets, so when you'd get his autograph by the tunnel you'd get a couple of drips of prime Norwegian oak too. Or how Dimi Kharine's goalkeeping top in 1995 looked very similar to the Chocolate eclair sweet wrappers that you could buy from the newsagent between (old) Fulham Broadway station and the ground.

 

Would love to be able to go back and re-live some of those times.

Do you know, I hate to admit it (and maybe this will mark me as a bad fan to some) but I cannot remember watching the final in 1998. Was it on tv? Maybe up here in the sticks we couldn't get Channel 5, Or maybe it was because I had 3 children under 7 so can't remember anything from those days. I do remember hearing that we'd won it the next morning but not watching it.

Apart from the 1997 Charity Shield (first CFC game) and the 1-0 loss to Aston Villa at the Bridge in 1998 (first game at the Bridge) that game is something I'll never forget... Well, my reaction anyway. I was gutted Zola wasn't playing as he was my favourite, had the proper hump. When he came on and scored I ran around the living room (I was 10) jumped on the sofa which knocked our lamp flying and then launched myself off the arm and landed with perfection on the floor. I don't think I have ever celebrated like that, when we've won the league and the CL I’ve collapsed on my knees and cried. Although in Munich and I did run around in disbelief for about 20 seconds.

I remember that part, I was on a coach from Cumbria with my son and brother (both ManU).

I was sat next to a man with "hate" tattooed across one fist, and "MUFC".

I stayed quiet lol
