Leicester f**king it up in the end is a big possibility. We know Ranieri and he was the 'nearly' man for us. Second in the prem, almost in the CL final...

And to think 20% of the season is still to be played.

Mathematically we can do it but I think our lads are looking for FA cup and CL instead of 4th spot. Human nature.

Top 4 would be on easily had we been a bit more efficient and aggressive in those drawn games. Looking back at 2 games against Watford, 2 games against the clueless United, home against WBA, could have easily gone 4-6 points more. We aren't a top 4 team, that's the bottom line.

Since Jose left, we've been in 2nd place. The last few months, we have indeed been a top 4 team. I think people may have an intuitively flawed concept of what a top 4 team looks like. Top 4 teams drop points too.

The "if only" situation you describe, where we'd have 4 to 6 points more, would have put us at the very top since mid December.

You can't expect a team to be 16th the first half of the season and 1st the second half. You just can't. Add the injuries, and you're talking about a supernatural reversal.

It's unlikely. We can now get a maximum of 67 points, which hasn't been enough to secure fourth place since 2006, and it would mean us winning all our remaining games and all the teams above us slipping up.

That wasn't too bad for a manager who just started getting transfer money in that season. He still had to manage us with dross like Babayaro and Melchiot.

If only we had a crystal ball, there unbelievably really was an opportunity for us when Hiddink took over...if we'd turned half of our draws to wins, we'd be right in the mix...I wonder if the players had believed if it was possible, they would have made a better fist of it? would be hilarious if city miss out now
