I remember my old man saying this was the biggest and nosiest crowd he’d ever seen and heard  at Ibrox.
The official attendance was given as 80,000. He reckoned there were easily 30,000 more in that night!

The stairwells on the terracing basically ceased to exist near the front. Such was the great numbers in attendance that night.
