Scotland v England at Hampden Park in 1964. Scotland won 1-0 with a goal from Alan Gilzean. Gilzean jumping against Banks. Other Scottish players in the pitch are Denis Law and Davie Wilson.

Great picture. Look at how densely that crowd is packed in.  The official attendance was given as 133,245.

The official Hampden capacity back then was 134,000

Goodness knows how many were actually there that day.  Perhaps 150,000?!

Hampden was packed for the 1962 international against England

General view of the crowd in the west stand. The attendance that day was 132,441.
It was the eightieth tie between Scotland and the "Auld Enemy".

The 1962 Scotland v England game at Hampden. Watched by an official crowd of a 132,441!

Great pictures. Looks like Denis Law in the background. Just looked at the Scotland side for the game. Some fine players. Captained by Rangers legend Eric Caldow. In the fixture at Wembley her broke his leg after a tackle by Bobby Smith. This was in the days of no substitutes. Scotland won the game in 1963 2-1 with both goals from Slim Jim. Made up for the result in 1961!
