The official Hampden capacity back then was 134,000 Goodness knows how many were actually there that day. Perhaps 150,000?!

Just looked at the Scotland side for the game. Some fine players. Captained by Rangers legend Eric Caldow. In the fixture at Wembley her broke his leg after a tackle by Bobby Smith. This was in the days of no substitutes. Scotland won the game in 1963 2-1 with both goals from Slim Jim. Made up for the result in 1961!
