Seeing Tommy Boyd reminds me that we swapped him for Tony Cascarino. A decision that baffled me at the time and still does. I thought Boyd was a good full back.

John Motson has frequently admitted that covering this game kick started his bbc tv commentary career.

On this day in 1989, Ray played his last game for Rangers. He only spent two years at the club but in that time became a legend at Rangers. The goal he scored against Celtic in August, 1988 enhanced his status at the club.

This picture is of him at his last game for Rangers. Like so many others Ray understood what it means to play for Rangers.
