A bit left of field, but I give the MOTM award to Costa.

No disrespect to the likes of Luiz, Moses and Pedro who were all great as well.

Yeah, thought Luiz and Moses were great but I too went for Costa. Love the way he is playing this season and how recently, he has also been keeping out of trouble. What an asset when he is in this kind of form and mood.

As for Boro, have to say I was impressed by their lad Traore. He proved to be a real handful and what a turn of pace he's got. He will cause plenty of problems for defences if he carries on like that.

I don't know what game you were watching regarding Matic? He was spraying balls out wide and forward plenty. I think you're being unnecessarily critical of him and Alonso here. How many goals have we conceded since Alonso came into the team? He's made a few small errors, but nothing costly, and the width he gives on the left side is so valuable to us.

Luiz was my MOTM, another dominating display from him, plenty of great tackles, but he really showed his merit and character towards the end where he cleared four or five headers and absolutely bossed Negredo in the air.

I don't remember Matic being part of the attack in any of our chances or make any decisive tackles.  He was a person to pass to and a persona to pass it off, but nothing more.

Alonso had a couple of the worst attacking balls/shots you will ever see from a premier league player, simply has no right foot and is very predictable.  The formation allows him to get in space, but he was out of position a few times when defending.  If he is going to get into those advanced positions then he needs to be better, if not, he needs to stay back and defend the counter.

I know we won and are in great form, however if you are not always looking to improve then when the time to call on your bench, you're left with players who haven't played football for 5+ weeks.  I'll back Conte though.  Just my thoughts.

I have to say, I was a bit surprised by SKY’s MOTM award going to Victor.

On the whole, he has adapted to his new role brilliantly (especially from a defensive standpoint) but yesterday, I actually thought his end product was pretty poor. He lacked a bit of composure in the final third, and seemed reluctant to take on the fullback and get to the byline. For someone with such raw pace and power, he should be trying to take on his full back more often rather than cutting inside, and I’m sure this is something Conte will have noticed.

That said, this is being picky and take nothing away from his development. The prospect of Ivan trying to play this role (if Moses were to get injured) doesn’t bear thinking about.

For me, the standout MOTM yesterday was Luiz and I must admit he is proving me wrong on all counts. Since his return he has been nothing short of a revelation. We have (so far) not seen any of the stupid stuff we saw before, he is (so far) leading from the back and his positional awareness (so far) has been spot on.

I’m very happy to say he seems to be proving me wrong at the moment, and long may it continue.

luiz for me too- wasn't perfect defensively and didn't get near southampton away in that regard (which has to be his benchmark for defensive decision making by a shot) but for the most part he did what he had to and was good going forwards too. since we've switched to a back 3 we've talked a lot about his improved discipline defensively, but I'd argue he's improved with the ball a lot too. he's getting on the ball less and going up field less often but when he does he's making it count much more in his selection of pass.

moses was also excellent but should've got himself a goal. hazard was typically good and azpilcueta showed again that he's a great defender.

another game with no bad performances!

Moses was the most active unit in the team but nothing special in defense or offense. I mean - neither goal, nor assist, crucial cleaning or something like that. So that Sky MOTM surprised me really. He deserves a good mention bot nothing more.

Luiz - clean sheet - we won with 1 goal. If we didn't achieve that clean sheet we would drop points. Costa - one goal and very good plays without ball. We would drop points without his goal. So hard choice to make. Both of them quite impressive. I will go with Diego - he was close to assist 4 or 5 times. Right now he is top 3 in the world.
