I know there’s a lack of top class strikers available but if we’re in a building phase, why are we signing a 31 year old for potentially 18 months?

It's a short term solution to our striker issues. We can look for a long term successor to buy in the summer.

I definitely wanted him over Lukaku when they were the two main choices two years ago, I always thought Morata had very good potential. How wrong I was... I still think he was good when we first signed him, I was impressed but once his form dipped he never recovered, he had a full summer and fresh new start to the season to prove the doubters wrong and he couldn't do it.

There might be a player in there but with a mentality that he has he won't ever be good enough for a top club, he goes straight into depression mode when things aren't going his way.

Look at him and Ross. Both coming in to the new seasons with points to prove. Ross worked his backside off to get fit and ready for the new season and took his chance when it came his way.

Morata, on the other hand was the complete opposite and wasted the multiple chances he was given.

Exactly, despite his massive inconsistency, Ross is still showing something but he still has a lot of ways to go to prove that he's Chelsea material. But when you watch Barkley play he's always trying to change the game, he keeps his head up high and is confident enough to take shots when it comes his way and get into the right positions.

There's no doubt Terry, Lampard and Drogba achieved more here, but in my opinion, Hazard is better at what he does than the 3 of them, even if Hazard was here for a season and he went elsewhere, he would still be the best player to wear the blue. If Messi came here for a 3-month loan he would be in my eyes the best player to ever wear the blue at this club even if he won nothing.

I'm purely talking on ability, I don't think we'll get another player as good as he is for a long time sadly. I've got so used to him here I would dread to think how we do without him, sometimes I can't stand watching us play without him.

Ability wise, John Terry was the best and most talented CB in the world for many years. I dont think Hazard has peaked in his position to the point John Terry had. Terry is there with Maldinis and Baresis of the world (Best of all time for defense), whereas Hazard will be with  great players such as Baggio, Del Piero and Zidane (not as talented as them though). Certainly he is not with Maradona, Pele, Ronaldo , C. Ronaldo and Messi (midfield and attack)
