July 24, 20205 yr So it’s been announced that the PL will start September 19th, that does not give Frank much time to integrate all the new pieces we will be getting in and really do much coaching or training. We finish up (most likely) CL on August 8th, so 5 weeks to get guys in and situated and go again. I think it’s fair to say that to start the season things may be a little sloppy for a lot of these teams bringing in new players, and the veteran clubs that have been together longer will have an advantage in the early going.

Even less of a break as next season's PL starts on 12 September. https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2020/07/24/start-date-for-next-premier-league-season-confirmed

Absolutely not, you never give up while there's still technically a chance no matter how small, goes against the culture of this club in every way imaginable.

Agreed. Its a long shot but we cannot give up. By the time we play them Bayern will have gone over a month without a competitive fixture. So they will be well rested but hopefully rusty too. If we score first earlyish in the first half perhaps some nerves will kick in on the Bayern side.
