We went down 1-4 to Oxford Utd at The Bridge.

Our scorer was John Bumstead in the 63rd min.  The game was watched by a crowd of 16,181.

Duncan Shearers second and last game for us, while it was John Millers debut !

We are still 3rd in the table. 

We don’t play competitively again in the League,until Sat 8th March v Man City at The Bridge.

A snowy winter stopped play.

Yet our next match is a friendly just along the road from me v Glasgow Rangers on Friday 14th Feb 1986.

We go down 3-2 on a freezing cold night.

The floodlights went off in part of the Stadium I’m sure from memory.

Our scorers were Keith Jones and Nigel Spackman.

A crowd of 17,512 watched it.

Really angry this and the Leicester home game were played. The club advertised fans to help clear the terraces and pitch of snow and ice in return for a seat ticket! I got up there too late help and ended up sitting in a cafe down the Fulham rd having a fry up!!
 

The Leicester game had Kerry out injured, Speedie was suspended and Joe Mc Laughlin injured. I think it was all about having money coming in during a bad winter. Unfortunately 1 point out of 6 was a bad return for these fixtures. The two games to watch were awful as well.

Great night even though we lost. One of the coldest nights I’ve been to a game! The journey home was long as well!!!

A 1-1 draw in a friendly against an Iraq National 11 in Baghdad.

Big Joe McLaughlin was our goal scorer.

15,000 spectators watched the match.  

Glasgow then Baghdad for our last two friendly matches. Ah the life of a Chelsea player back in 1985/86!😀

Hopefully back to a competitive match on Sat 8th March vMan City at The Bridge.

Spuds had a crowd of 10,841 that day at three point lane.

  Never had the pleasure of going to a Southampton v chelsea fixture ( too far down on train i guess ) ,but that 

end behind the goals in that photo was a Odd looking shape for a bit of terrace . 
 

seem to recall coventry having a Odd away end aswell .

saying that the away end at Wigan ,Springfield Park was Odd for its lack of terrace and muddy slope where it 

was a terrace / field effort . Keep well away if its pissing it down 

Wembley, Sunday 23rd March 1986.

We beat Man City 5-4 in the Full Members Cup Final.😀

Yes we’ve won at Wembley!🍻

Our scorers were: David Speedie with a hat trick. In the 24th, 52nd and 60th minutes respectively. Colin Lee in the 36th and 80th minutes.

5-1 up with 10 mins to go. 

Their scorers were Kinsey 10th, McCarthy 84th, Big Doug Rougvie with an OG in the 88th min. Then Lillias with a pen in the 89th min, to really put us on edge!
