crap game, but thought i'd do it anyway:

Cudicini 6 nothing to do due to dull utd

Ferreiria 6 as above

Terry 7 good to see him carrying ball forward like he used to.

Essien 7.1 imperious

Bridge 6 perhaps should have got forward more against defensive utd

maka 6 stroll in park

Diarra 6 likewise

Mikel 6 looked good before being subbed at ht...loved his dirty foul, dirty manc deserved it

Sinclair 6 tried hard and surprisingly faced two defenders constantly which is a sign of utd's fear of him...was growing in game and then brown did the dirty

SWP 8 playing with much more confidence and looked most likely to create or score

Kalou 4.5 poor tonight...he has these kind of games every now and then and it reminds you he still has a lot to learn...lost ball time and time again

subs:

Joe cole 7 lots of good runs, just wish he'd got forward a bit more

Sahar 6 almost got first chelsea goal

morais too late for rating

Agreed , SWP looked full of confidence , wanted the ball a lot . I just feel he's lacking that bit extra , that bit of individual skill that can change a game .

Essien is just a farking GREAT player , 100% every time , i thought he was our best player .

We completely p****d all over them 2nd half with posession , unlucky not to win by at least 2 .

Difficult to judge anyone on what was a sort of "nothing game". But I am getting more and more frustrated with Kalou. Bags of talent but very rarely looks up when in good positions and is choosing the wrong option 9 times out of 10. I lost count the number of times a move broke down due to him.

Also think at times, people are going a little OTT with Essien. I know he has been playing out of position and the guy is so strong and a real worker. But last night he nearly handed Man Utd a goal on a plate in the first half and then second was very lucky not to give away a penalty.

Thought Joe did well - some great control in very tight spaces, and SWP is showing that with a run of games he could do well for us. Again some great control at times and if only Drogba had been around for a couple of those crosses.

Youngsters all gave a good account of themselves, but Mikel does need to calm down otherwise he could rival Speedie in the sending off stakes!!

Couldn't believe 606 last night, some bloke claiming to be a Chelsea fan calling in saying that the verdict was out on Michael Essien? That he had been disappointing and inconsistent all seasaon. This bloke sounded reasonably sane and sober, and didn't appear to be on drugs. Hard to tell on the radio. He was a Northerner though, so maybe there's a but of a clue there.

Lofty mate, you really are a glutton for punishment. icon_lol.gif

Well maybe but .. this was 5Live last night, not the dreaded Talktrash. Speaking of which, I don't know if you've ever heard Hawksbee and Jacobs? They do a "What a waste of ink" feature, which quotes from the more idiotic letters to newspapers. Heard one just now from some bloke whose name I've thankfully already forgotten:

I hope Keira Knightley doesn't follow through

Now there's a picture for you.

I have to say I gve up listening to the likes of Talksport and 5Live years ago (other then when I have to listen to game commentaries on them) however this morning on the way to work I decided to tune into Talksport for the first time in a long time just to see if all the abuse dished out on here was merited. Now at that time of day it is the Alan Brazil breakfast show and I must admit I didn't find it particulary offensive toward Chelsea at all. Now I acknowledge that none of the abuse thrown on here has ever been toward Brazil so I can only imagine that this particular show is not a reflection on the ones you guys bitch about.

Essien nearly gave Manu a goal by a shocking mistake. so 7.1 is too high. people should try to see his performances a bit more realistic. I think he could do whatever he wants at the moment and most would say great performance

Mikel was our best player till he got subbed, has to calm down in some situations 7

SWP 8 ? 7 - 7.5 he was good but not 8
