Jim Stewart and John McDonald with the Scottish Cup. Stewart kept Rangers in the original game with three brilliant saves. McDonald scored two goals.

Davie Cooper was outstanding for Rangers in the replay. He scored the other goal, but made the three for Russell and McDonald.

The late, great, Davie Cooper opened the scoring for Rangers in the replay. Here he’s flicking the ball over Hamish McAlpine with just 10 minutes gone.

Scottish Cup Final Replay. 15th May 1963. The match wasn’t all ticket!

The crowds at the traditional Rangers End of Hampden.

120,263 officially saw the match, add 25,000 plus on for the real attendance. Rangers won by a far greater margin than the 3-0 scoreline.

The Scottish Cup Final Replay 16th May 1979. A very boring 0-0 draw, that went to extra time.

Derek Johnstone , Gordon Smith and John Greig all look as bored as the supporters were that night!

Don’t think any tv footage exists of this game or the second replay!

The second replay took place on Mon 28th May 1979. The League had been lost by then. Rangers won 3-2 th3 second replay in the last minute of extra time.

The two teams met, again on 31st May at Easter Road in the last league game of a long (and very disappointing league season. This was a postponed game from December 19 78 or early January 1979

Unbelievably, the first League game of the 1979-80 season, saw the teams meeting at Easter Road on 11th August 1979!

Both Sandy and Alan were the respective captains of Scotland and England in May 1975 at Wembley.

When England ‘narrowly won’ 5-1 !

20 years ago today, remember it well.

On the day of the game I went for a walk. Was too nervous to watch the match. Only when I got in did I know the score and then sent messages of congratulations to Rangers supporting family and friends.
