There was a very bad crush on a terracing Stairwell at the corner of the North Terracing/Copland Road terracing. It would, exactly two years to the very day, become notorious as ‘Stairway 13’

Rangers 3-0 Celtic.4th January 1975. This game was so vital in the 1974-75 Championship Race. Celtic never recovered from this defeat and Rangers gained so much confidence from it, ending up eventual Champions.

I think there were similar fires in the Hampden and Celtic Park Main Stands around this time.

Graeme Souness wanted to buy him a second time for Rangers in the summer of 1990. Bett turned down the move, as he didn’t want to return to the West of Scotland.

From 1982 when Rangers beat Celtic 1-0 at Ibrox. Jim Bett scored from a penalty.
