He certainly made a few hard tackles over the years. I remember a testimonial game at the Bridge - it may have been for Eddie Niedzwiecki - and when Graham Roberts was playing for us. Souness was a guest player for the opposing team and it was not long after Roberts had fallen out with him and he'd left Rangers. The two went in for a tackle and there was a sharp intake of breath as we thought it could be a violent coming together. In the end it wasn't.
