yogic
Many reports are suggesting Terry has broken a toe on his right foot!! Cant find any official statement though! Gurdian

Guest
This may sound blasphamous, but given we've just signed Tal Ben Haim and will probably sign Alex. I don't think loosing Terry for a while will be a huge blow as loosing Carvalho (of whom there is no like for like replacement in the squad). mad_mac
It is till a huge blow, but at least we seem to be covered. Assuming we do et Alex that is, because you also need to remember that we have NO Left Back right now either
loz
A bog standard broken toe is not a concern, he would be back in no time.
yogic
Bridge is months away from a return. Cole is still recovering and its going to be a while before he gets into the team. Ben Haim has been forced to LB. We dont have Alex YET. This could mean another spell for Essien in defence, unless Jose playes Diarra or Jhonson at LB and Ben Haim in the centre. Gem
On the plus side, according to The Sun (I know I know, but if its good news then I'm far more likely to believe it ) Roman flew out to LA yesturday to shake hands on JT's new contract that he's expected to sign when we return from America. The Moos
This is exactly why we signed Ben Haim (and perhaps Alex). Last season we fell apart when JT got injured (that and some other injuries of course). We have now signed Ben Haim to fix this and it's going to be interesting to see if he can do what he was signed to do. A broken toe for JT is like an annoying fly but it will keep him out for awhile, though not for too long I guess (and hope). I suspect we'll see more of Cork or Hutchinson as LB in the next few games then. Will be interesting. Hutchinson - Ben Haim - Riccy - Johnno It could be worse

Let's not forget that we're talking about a player who last season: ...was back in training the day after he had surgery on his back! ...had no chance in hell to play after hurting his foot but still made it back to the final in the Carling Cup. ...got kicked in the face, swallowed his tongue, was unconscious, was rushed to the hospital and then got back to celebrate our victory. John Terry is not a human...
MHedges
Although it sounds serious, a broken toe is not as bad as it sounds. I broke my toe playing high school soccer once, and was back playing a few weeks later. As I am no JT, I imagine he will be back in no time. Scott
Quote from Jose in DailyM@il: "It is perfect. No new injuries. Wayne Bridge and Joe Cole started training injured, John Terry we thought could be the first new injury but no, not a broken toe, it will be okay." Bloody good news I say !! Ro
If he's that effective with a broken toe, can't imagine what would it be like when he's 100% fit
