  1. I missed that on the TV and so did the commentors. Hope the FA picks that up for bringing the game into disrepute! Brilliant dive, lets nominate him for an Oscar
  2. when there are two fouls on the same play in the penalty area and the officials miss both of them….its not surprising one drops points. Officials were about as one sided as they could get away with
  3. Carvalho is off injured...anyone know what/how bad?
  4. His theory is that that way you get get 30 yd start...unfortunately so o the opposition when its form the kick off
  5. A long its done PURELY to reduce the pain of the loss you feel by our losing Just don;t let Roman know, the odds will shorten and Ladbrokes is not a good way to fund buys in the transfer window
  6. Watch our for Inter beating United at OT and knocking them out of CL. That will be Jose's statement of intent.
  7. Please let Rafa know about Rooney so he can add it to his rant. What is disappointing about his rant is that no one stood up alongside him - aside form Graham Poll!
  8. Only if the votes can be cast for the opposition as well. Otherwise, its a vote for the least insipid display.....which would mean the likes of Joe and Frank at the top of the votes. Any why is Joe consistently one our our more likely players to create opportunities always subbed just before we concede another goal?
  9. Val I think the players are picking up your Avatar, they were asleep today. To me the team is missing Jose's mantra of DON'T give the ball away. There is way too much sloppy play, with either poor passing or passing to someone who will be under pressure. That means we end up chasing the ball, getting frustrated and getting booked. For all Scolari's attacking game at the beginning of the season, he isn't as sound defensively and with the last link to Jose gone (Clarke) we are bloody awful defensively. Lets face it we are a mid table team right now on the form since the end of October. If we don't change, we WILL NOT be playing Champions League next year. I am losing the belief that Scolari can do it, but changing manager mid season isn't going to help unless one is fighting relegation. Changing some of his staff might. Changing the players so that we play the ones who care would. BTW what was this crap about we need a left winger, and immediately sell Bridge (who can play that role) and loan out Sinclair who is probably the best left winger we have Nick
  10. I am NOT calling for Scolari's exit...merely recognizing that trends tend have a basis of facts behind them whether one recognizes them or not. The breaking of the last link to JM's approach sounds like the key to me. No one is there that can remind the players of what they were doing under JM, that they are not now under Phil. Without that, we need another solution. Nick
  11. Is it me, but it seems like our string of poor results occurred just after Steve Clarke left the club..... whatever it was he was doing, we need it be done again, and fast... Nick
  12. At least we did not do a Man City, they lost 0-3 to Forest at home. Thats humilating. Oh well, just a nice trip to other side of Manchester next week, while coming off an absolutely dreadful run of games. We either are going to give up the premier ship race next Sunday or start the bounce back. The smart money is not on the former
  13. Butch Where do we send the predictions to? Nick
  14. He's playing the Makelele roll, by comparison he's a got a great shot. Just doesn't get on target very often, but that is not his role...and at least he keeps tryinh. At the back he's been great. Last night, I think we missed Carvaho at the back (just because he and JT know each other better), Deco in midfield and Malouda (I know he was on the pitch but did not see much out of him)
  15. The one thing I noted was that Frank does not seem to be taking the long range pot shots (aside from free kicks). With a park the bus defense, we might be better off taking a few long range shots -- the ricocets have a decent chance of creating a goal. If we've have got 1 today, I think we could have racked up 3 or 4 more easily. Aside from not winning, I am just disappointed that Scolari keeps Sinclair on the bench....would like to see what he can do a bit more often Nick
  16. Yup...I was disappointed that Sinclair did not get on. And since Paulo was getting ready early, I am not convinced that he would have even if JT did not need to come off? btw anyone heard what's the issue with JT? Please not a metatarsal....
  17. Butch You need a new category for CC matches.....player with the lowest number of points that still one the match prediction Nick
  18. Kenyon would be stupid to say we need a striker etc etc as the price goes up and the liklihood of signing goes down. He MAY just have been avoiding doing that... Nick
  19. The only way that Franco gets more experience though is playing him...which is what Phil is gradually doing. I just wish he'd give Sinclair more time too. I think Scott's readier for the big time than Franco and personally I would start with Anelka and Malouda with the current injuries but be more agressive at switching them out when it isn't working. Sinclair on a 1/2 time for example. Today was a tough decision as anyone was going to have a hard time. Kalou kept making good runs but final ball was aweful; same bt not quite so bad with Bosingwa. To me Malouda and Anelka rarely got into the game. Malouda has been good in some games so there is hope. I have get to see anything from Anelka to inspire me. He was scored a few but most have been tap ins that Franco would have been just as likely to score and he probaly would have got more. The only plus to me today was the end of the record.....I think its been a noose around our necks the lasy year or so. Just look at the home record vs the away one. Better to lose a game occasionally than draw 50% of them Nick
  20. Loz To be fair, I think that they are saying Essien being out for months, means that we are down one player in midfield, and they wanted coverage (which would not be the case with some out for 4-6 weeks). If you recall it was the failure to do this a couple of years ago, when JM wanted defensive coverage that arguably left us short handed and cost us the title. Scolari knows the guy and if Roman's OK funding payroll for a season for the guy, its not a bad move to add a little coverage. What if Mikel and/or Ballack pick up an injury or a few too many cards? BTW, totally agree on the youngster front - I would have like to have seen Scoot and Franco get most of the second half Nick
  21. Ken...as good as corners? Most of the time they were better...more accurate, caused more havoc and drop just in the right place.....could have done with Hutch now. Drogba would make Ronaldo's 42 last year look like child's play if had Hutch;s long throws
  22. Tea Bar We'll support you getting the extra points if you can get the Premier League to accept that the correct score and the one in the records as far as points in the BPL was 3-0 :P
  23. Grant got us to two finals and close to the premiership, and got fired. This Robinho screw us the latest of many from Kenyon...why is he Mr Teflon?
  24. We should fix by selling Ronaldo replica shirts, Gerrard replica shirts in an annoucement that we are reaching out to other clubs supports who like blue :D
  25. Good thinking I was looking Ballack's name as he did nothing wrong.
