  1. Apparently we will see the 4-4-2 too, but Jose has said we will see more of 4-3-3 than 4-2-2 next season. I hope so 4-2-2 would mean that we lost two players in one game to red cards and/or injuries (the latter after all subs were used)
  2. He's lucky he isn't in CA, she'd get ?5.4bn, and Roman would be watching the Chelsea matches from the Matthew Harding stand while she entertained in his old suite. As the guys on Fix Sports world noted, Roman did not look that happy after the FA Cup win....its just not clear whether we wanted u8s the score 4 by half time and was miffed that we didn't or because he's distracted wih divorce attorneys..
  3. Tickets are on sale at http://gostanford.cstv.com/tickets/tickets-body.html Lets make sure we have a great contingent in sections 102-104! Will be there with the kids....:)
  4. with Cech referring being kicked in the face, not only is it a clear foul, but wouldn't hat be abooking too. Sir red Nose probably really knew that, swhich is why he subbed off Giggs before he got sent off...
  5. I'm not ruling out Ballack either... The only ones we can rule out are the likes of Tevez, and Kaka that we have not signed yet and Kezman, Parker et al who have already left!
  6. Well in turns out we would have done this year if we hadn't drawn all 5 of the last 5 games. We've just not been the same for the last few games.....fatigue maybe. Certainly, in my view, says that the slimmed squad is too slim. Injuries and players losing form is inevitable. All right we had more than our fair share this year, especially to key players (Cech, Terry, Cole). But if Drogs gets an injury next season, we could be in big trouble. To me its notable that the team than has the golden boot winner has NOT won the titel this year, or for the last few. It best not to be reliant on one or two players....
  7. Last time I checked we are at Liverpool....
  8. Looking at the replay, I think Richardson was offside for United's goal anyway...Rooney would have been fine, but Richardson wasn't...
  9. All the games are tough. West Ham could yet have a very big impact...they play both Manure and us, and have everything to play for. Lets hope they will all their remainign games except against us....if they don;t the last game of the season against Manure won't matter to them!
  10. He decked Bridge...and thats a red card in all sports except boxing..
  11. Butch Looks like we need to add some predictions....no of players left on the pitch at the end of the game and the number of minutes of injury time... Geez! Nick
  12. Sky reported that Cech is expected back in the team against Wigan....let hope so. Terry an Robben back mid week too.
  13. I agree with Everything EXCEPT that bit. Believe me, I am not on a one man anti Ballack crusade - despite some of my posts!! But I thought the midfield did play a lot better last night without Ballack. Agreed, both SWP and Kalou did little to suf=ggest that they should remain in the starting 11, but with no Ballack, I thought we saw a much more effective Lamps (esp first half) and Essien too had more space to make an impact. Nibs, I watched on Tivo last night and totally agree. I think its because Essien is so strong, we play best when he's in the middle. He seems to to have taken over Joe's cong, 'cos he every F&^%ing where! Does he have a couple of brothers we can bring in to the team in the transfer window? As one of the papers said in November, a Gahan team with 10 Michael Essiens would win the World Cup. I think we just need 2 Drogba's and 3 Essiens (2 play along side Lampard and one at right back), and we'd win every game. Nick
  14. Coombsie You won't get a slagging from me. The month or so has been downright poor. I think we are suffering from having a reduced squad. If this has been 2004/5, then if a few were not putting the effort in, they would be watching from the stands. Now they are not. Ballack has been OK, but he is not dominating games. Lamps has been better but less reliable than the past. Clearly Cech and JT are missed, but so is Cole (not least because Eifur and Duffer left). Some of the issues are circumstances (i.e. injuries), but t me the big issue is that we have had this confidence that we will win the game and we don't go out with the passion necessary to do it. We've been winning by a goal, when if we played the whole 90 minutes we'd be winning by 3 or 4. If Jose does not kick some butt, we'll end the year in 2nd place with no trophies. I think we may need to go into the transfer market just to wake a few players up. ! Nick
  15. Butch If you compare to the year before when we got 95 points, we are off one point. We got 7 points from the 9 vs City at home, and the two away games. ! Nick
