Posted October 13, 200717 yr Looked a bad injury whilst playing for England today. He injured the same ankle in the first half but the twunt McLaren did not take him off at HT when England were leading 3-0. Absolute joke!!!
October 13, 200717 yr Yeah, it looked bad. Who will play now as LB for Chelsea? Bridgey suspended and Cashley injured. Essien as defender again?
October 13, 200717 yr Wait, Bridge is suspended? He hasn't been back from his injury yet. I'm obviously missing something.
October 13, 200717 yr Will Bridgey be back for the game after Boro or is he suspended for one more after that?
October 13, 200717 yr If the red card was so "wrongful", as the Chelsea website says, then Bridgey will only be suspended for one game. Can always hope
October 13, 200717 yr If the red card was so "wrongful", as the Chelsea website says, then Bridgey will only be suspended for one game. Can always hope Nope - appeal was thrown out on the basis that he deserved some sort of a card - the same decision that Mikel got. He'll miss the Boro game and the home game against City. Ferreira has been playing left-back for Portugal so he'd be the obvious choice, and I guess Ben Haim could play there too if needed. Any more defensive injuries and we could be down to the bare bones. I currently make it Alex, JT, Cashley all injured, Bridge suspended and Essien (as emergency cover) injured.
October 13, 200717 yr don't like to see anyone in pain, so i wish him a good recovery, but hopefully bridge might get a chance to establish himself once the ban ends.
October 14, 200717 yr id expect ben haim to be the left back if bridgey or cole arent in. just hope we arent playing anyone with fast/tricky wingers while hes in...
October 15, 200717 yr Back page of Tuesday's Sun - Ashley out for up to 3 months :-((( Well it's the Sun so 3 months could very well be 3 days. So I won't believe anything the papers write about Cole until the official report comes out. Apparently he will be examined by the medical staff before saturdays game against Boro. I read not long ago about JT's injury and about how he would be out for a long time. Apparently he's now fit enough to play against Russia. So the "lengthy absence" of JT turned out to be not even a weak
October 16, 200717 yr [web]http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/article345471.ece[/web] yep it's true, three months. So now once wayne bridge is able to come back, he'll automatically have a place. Unless Esssien's put here I understand why Terry wants to play, but I wish he'd play maybe for the second half. We can't risk Terry again after what happened last season, besides he's had a week to relax so far. Also read about van der vart comming for $40 million
October 16, 200717 yr well at least chelsea's best left back will soon be back in the team once his suspension is over...it seems that these guys are doing shift work, when one gets injured the other is just getting fit!
October 16, 200717 yr Only problem is that Bridge can't ever seem to stay fit himself. is this the same bridge that held the record for consecutive EPL games before David James (i think) & Frank? he's been unlucky lately..
