Posted December 3, 200717 yr What do you reckon was it a sending off? Forget the player's reputation for a minute (yes you Andy Gray) and look at the challenge - was it worse than or as bad as Mikels at Old Trafford? All this 'I know Robbie Keane and he's not that type of player' shouldn't come into it when you make a two footed challenge should it? For me it was as bad or worse than Mikel's and was a red card. Mikel was a lucky lad on Sat by the way.
December 3, 200717 yr That was never a sending off offence. Neither was Mikel's at OT. or indeed his tackle on saturday - although it was very stupid.
December 3, 200717 yr I agree with Ethicalstrategy that none of the three was a red card, Keane's or Mikel's two. I also agree that the player's supposed character should have no bearing on the decision. Unless of course that player is a total scumbal like Diouff. His challange yesterday was stomach-churning, and he only got a yellow.
December 3, 200717 yr No way was Keanes tackle worthy of a red card. Wasn't two footed. Disgraceful decision (although the fact that it's a decision going against Spurs makes it no quite so disgraceful after all come to think of it). But I do feel sorry for Keane. As for Diouff - he must be the most hated player there is now - well certainly up there with Hunt. He is the sort of player you could see get a terrible career finishing injury and actually enjoy it.
December 3, 200717 yr I'm with Ethical and would say all three were Yellow card offences, none of them looked likely to cause injury and although from behind were more Tangled legs than just scythed away legs if you know what I mean
December 3, 200717 yr Not a Red Card for me either. Also notice how well Keane and Sp*rs took it. Wish our players could act that grown up.
