Premier League Manager - who will be next one to leave

Featured Replies

there is a lot of talk about big sam leaving, but I would be suprised if Newcastle got rid of him that quickly. If Rafa crashes out of Europe, and the cups, then I think he will be a gonner, but I don't think we will see anyone leaving until the summer

Hitzfeld will leave Bayern München in the summer and would seem like the most obvious choice for Liverpool if Rafa leaves in the summer. There's been rumours about Bayern wanting to replace Hitzfeld with Jose. Hmmm... 300.gif

Unless Pool starts winning again I won't be surprised to see Rafa leave. And I won't be sad either.

Or maybe I will be since that might mean that they will get a good manager. Heard Mourinho was heading there but the day he joins Pool the devil will be figure skating in hell.

Apparently either Hicks or Gillet is flying over this week to make the final decision on the new latrine (ie the new poo stadium design). The Daily Mail, among others, is opining that there is also now to be a meeting to decide Benitez's future. If that is true then it would explain the rather self-pitying and bathetic bleatings of Benitez post the Luton tie in which the poo were, by all accounts, truly woeful. Of interest is the fact that none of the senior poo players have come out in support of Benitez in recent weeks post that December meeting between the owners and Benitez and that is significant. IMO Benitez has now lost the support of the players and certainly Hicks; Benitez knows this and hence the belated "I luv youse all" speech. I wouldn't at all be suprised if Benitez and the owners come to "an amicable arrangement" this week and nor would I be suprised if the owners weren't already talking to Jose.

On the other hand I don't think Sam will be given the flick this season albeit that he probably deserves it.

So my money is on Benitez.

thinking of Mourinho managing Liverpool makes me sick to my stomach.

Benitez has been given the money and time, but I don't think he'll be sacked now or any time this season. Possbily in the summer, that's if Liverfool : lose the FA cup; lose the prem, carling?; and champions league-basically another trophy less season will get him sacked.

I'm with The Moos, keep Benitez Liverfool so we win happy0034.gif

I beleive Benitez is safe till the end of the season. A guy at my work whose a Liverpool fan seems to think Mourinho will be taking over next season and is excited by the possibility (I hope his wrong).

As for Allardyce, I think his safe and I think Newcastle would be stupid to sack him. He was never going to come in and do brilliantly right off the bat, rather it will be a case of slow upward progression over time like he did with Bolton.

I think Big Sam's head is on the chopping board. But it'll be costly for them to pay out his contract. And there's the board's eating humble pie to consider. Can't imagine for a moment they want to appear 'wrong' in appointing him in the first place. Big Sam's a good middle of the table manager, but his long ball tactics will never sit well with any team (or fans) who value attractive football.

Rafa's there til Jose takes over and wins the league with Liverpool in his 1st season.

Jose cannot manage another premiership side this year so the yanks will not give 'the Fat one' any transfer budget in January, but let him keep the seat warm 'til Jose takes over in the summer.

I'd hate it to happen, and really hope Jose goes to Italy or Spain, but I've just got the feeling he's gonna come back to haunt us.

I doubt any premier league managers will change jobs between now and the end of the season as most have only been in their current jobs for a few months, unless the likes of Moyes, Hughes, or Oneill are offered bigger and better things, which I doubt.

The sooner Jose gets appointed to take over a non-English club (and no I don't mean Arsenal) the better - the idea of him managing L*verpool absolutely kills me.

freddie sheperd appointed allardyce before selling the club to mike ashley. hope that clears the situation for you.

1. Under Allardyce Bolton were on the edge of the champions league places so they are (sorry were) at the very least an upper middle table side.

2. From what I gather from Newcastle supporters they are desperate for results at this point and are willing to sacrifice "beautiful football" to get it. Feel free to correct me if you think I am wrong.

I beleive Allardyce is one of the best managers in the league but it will take at least a season or two at Newcastle before he has any real hope of turning that basketcase of a club around.

I still can't beleive it..............

We are talking about a club here who brought in the likes of Graham Souness and that ex-West Ham manager both after they were sacked for being crap. Don't be suprised if its Steve McClaren............
