Worried.. very worried

If Avram Grant is sacked, the tabloid is touting Frank Rijkaard as replacement.

I am not sure if he is the best available, but there seem to be no other suitable candidate.

I guess it will always be hard pressed trying to emulate JM's credentials.

It certainly does not look optimistic. icon_rolleyes.gif

ok ok... the positives

Ballack is improving,

At least we are still in the hunt for 2nd spot, FA Cup and Champion's League

JT/Lamps are back

We still have Russian roubles to change things around

Terry led and probably won a game of paintball shooting yesterday

For those twigs that are claiming that i am sprouting nonsense, just look at the team in the last 3 games - no passion, no conviction, no will to win.

painful. 844.gif

Worried here too. Mainly because not only are we not playing well and were scoring f**k all goals. Grant inherited a good squad , apart from Pizzaro , but he dosent know how to give us that killer instinct we need. Paulo should have been at right back on Sunday, Joey should have started and im f**king lost for words on that decision, Anelka up front to feed of Drogs. Theres also far too many long balls from our own half , when Peta gets posession, its as if its a case of, pump it up and see what happens. Drogba wont win every ball played up to him. Grant needs to get us playing football and i agree Ballack is playing too well at the moment to leave out . Im also worried J.T. is losing interest in the whole set up, its clear he dosent rate Grant and i can see him leaving in the summer if Grant is still there. Maybe J.T. has too much influence over other players and its having a knock on effect .Either way , it has to be sorted before next Wed, Grant has to pick the right starting 11 , for me , next Wed is crucial to the outcome of his future.

what happened to the days when managers were given a season or two or three to build a team and methods? Jeez the guy has had a few months in charge, we have had a ton of injuries, ANC, stupid friendlies and so on. Why do we expect instant success? 3rd in the league, league cup final, still in CL, and FA cup and it's March tomorrow.

We have been spoiled by winning the EPL and other silverware in the past 10 years but prior to that the guy would have been seen as a god. Not every year can every team win win win. Chill guys please.

Why not? We've got more money than Rockerfeller. A team that won back to back titles and cups like they were going out of fashion. So why can't we win win win? What's changed? Why have we lost our way?

1) the owner bought an over the hill striker Jose didn't want. And the team suffered by trying to fit him into the formation.

2) the owner got in a huff and refused to back the manager in the transfer market, forcing him to get 'free' players or 'cheap' players who were never going to be up to Chelsea standard.

3) the owner fired the world's best young manager and appointed a glove puppet.

We deserve to win win win because we're Chelsea. And anything that stops that happening - see example 1, 2 and 3 above - deserves the fans' abuse. It's our club, make no mistake. Maybe not on paper. But where it matters.

That is all.

I think that you make a good point, however, the main thing for me, and lack pf patience is; Grant has absolutely no credentials that make me feel like investing time in him is worthwhile

Under Mourinho we won, but we didn't win win win. Expecting the side to win the quad each year isn't reasonable.

We have been spoiled in a way you're right - or some have lets say.

You have to be realistic - you cannot win everything year in year out, but you should expect to challenge year in year out for it at this level.

Managers don't get long enough in the job now to prove themselves sadly - only Wenger and Fergie have managed to buck that trend and a few others but the emphasis is on the word "few".

At the moment i'm just keen to get AG away from the managers job. Moving him upstairs is a start but then you have the problem of the directoer of football undermining the manager.(like that Harry Enfield character, 'you dont want to do it like that, you want to do it like this')

I suppose the difference would be that any new manager appointed would be aware of AG presence before accepting the job where JM had Arneson and Grant putting their 2bobs worth in after he had accepted the job.(Why???)

I think it could be a job finding a quality manager who could work with all the outside interference that goes on at cfc.

Managers seem to deal with this type of thing in Spain so perhaps Rijkaard could be the man.

Players would certainly respect a man who has played and managed succesfully at the highest level like Rijkaard.
