also could someone give me the stats of the number of games he has started in his arsenal career please i tried and couldnt find anything only appearances.

I remember when Arse signed him and Mourinho was asked why he didn't enter the bidding 'We don't need him, We have Scott Sinclair''

Well it's about time young Scott was introduced, albeit slowly and surely, but he's gotta take his chance if given the oppotunity with the injuries we currently have and on the performances Malouda has turned in so far!

well said i think the only advantage walcott has is he plays

I think he is as good as they make out.. I think he needs some more development in terms of positioning and making intellegent runs, his excelleration is something very special.

just because he has one good game he is suddenly this great player. he needs to gain consistancy. i think he will a great player in time, but he is a good bit away yet

he will be but already the english media twats are building him up to ridiculous proportions i really feel sorry for the fella because the first bad game he has now he will be slated.

1 good performance doesnt make a great player

if he was as good as the press are making him out to be, he would have been a regular for arsenal, thats what wenger does, if your good enough you play week in week out

Not really possible to judge properly yet due to the limited playing time he has had. From what I have seen his positives are:

1. Pace to spare

2. Cool finisher

3. Seems pretty level headed

And his weaknesses are:

1. Really poor first touch sometimes - a real quality defender would make him pay for that

2. Crossing is weak if he is played out wide.

Like a lot of players of "his type" I think he is pretty inconsistent and flits in and out of games a lot. But I think he will get better & better and it's great that we won't now have to suffer Beckham playing for England any more.

I remember posting on the old CSR forum when Walcott was still at Southampton and I posted saying we should cut our losses and get rid of SWP and sign Walcott. Wish we had

I don't think he'll reach his full potential unless he moves from Arsenal, no dis-respect to Wenger but he's not Walcott's biggest fan considering he's his club level manager... i honestly think Walcott would benefit from a move to a team like Everton where he'd be guaranteed football on a weekly basis rather than the bit-part role he has at Arsenal... on Wednesday he took his chances well when he got them, i wouldn't get carried away about him personally

Bang on.

If he is a diamond, then it is a rough diamond at best.

I think with the correct exposure to the first team then Scott Sinclair will be at a similar level within a year.

Just need Malouda to pick up an injury I guess... :beatdeadhorse:

I think there is a bit of blue-tinted glasses action going on in this thread. If Scott Sinclair was in the same position as Walcott is now, we would be proclaiming him as the best prospect in the world.

The thing I don't understand is why Wenger has wrapped him up in cotton wool, and only played him as a bit part player over the last few years. It seems to go completely against his policy where the likes of Fabregas, Viera, Anelka, Ashely Cole etc were exposed to a lot of first team football very early in their careers.

I'm not sure if it is because he doesn't rate Walcott as highly, or the other way round and he rates him very highly and doesn't want to overexpose him.

One thing is for certain - now he has made his mark on the international stage, I don't think his bit part role at Le Arse can continue. Either Wenger will have to play him, or he will look to leave in my opinion.

He'll get hyped up, the media always do it. They did it with Wayne Rooney; the "White Pele" etc. :D
