Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
Bale???, blimey teenage girls ah i must be missing something with him and Torres. Back to the Torres debate and like i said earlier, out of form or low on confidence i can suffer as long as the effort is there and although the last couple of weeks as seen an improvement and 20 goals is a good return no matter who they are against we need a new top quality striker. If Torres is happy to play second fiddle to him(and who knows it may take off the pressure a bit) then keep him. There is plenty of room at a club like Chelsea to have 2 big name players up front. But whats more likely is he gets even more moody(when Drogba was here he went even more into his shell) and becomes disruptive in the squad then he should go. He looked good when he came on against Sunderland the weekend, took his goal well last night so credit were its due. If he gets a hat-trick against City the weekend i might put his poster on my wall But Monkey head can do one

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
I can understand a young girl maybe buying a certain players kit because she has a crush on him or whatever but i'm not sure fans across Europe anyway follow players but follow their teams. RVP is the biggest shirt seller this season, simply he's Utd's major signing and there very well supported and most fans buying their new kit have had his name on it. I think it was 25% of shirt sales or something on that list earlier. But i bet that doesn't mean Utd total shirt sales have gone up by that amount does it. He may sell a few in Holland but most dutch fans will be loyal to whichever team they support at home rather than RVP. I know its not the same in the far east and someone like Kagawa is probably a money spinner because they dont have major leagues of their own and are more into European football and they do follow their own players out of national pride which i suppose you can understand, i just dont think it works that way across Europe. But kit makers and sponsors are getting more and more powerful in the game, i remember us getting Ballack and the whole addidas number 13 thing that went on at the time so maybe there is more to it. Ballack on a free though was a no-brainer it takes a lot of bloody shirts to touch the sides on £50m and £175k per week.

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
Shirt sales???? By that your suggesting these people are non Chelsea fans and are just Torres fans who wouldn't have bought a Chelsea Shirt if Torres wasn't here?. Or is it more likely they ARE Chelsea fans who would have bought a Chelsea shirt anyway and would have had someone else's, their own or no name on the back so Torres in fact has done nothing to help generate revenue. But he is young and good looking(apparently), maybe we could give Kate Moss a game on the wing or something . I'm more concerned with what a player contributes on the pitch, and even out of form and lacking confidence I expect everyone to give 100% and that hasn't IMO always been the case. You can see his shoulders drop at times in games and you can tell he'd rather be anywhere else other than on that pitch. That's what i don't like.

Why Timing Is Just Right For Return Of The Special One
Why on earth would anybody want the Utd job after fergie, your on a hiding to nothing if you ask me. Better of letting someone else have it for a couple of years, failing, and then coming along as the savior IMO. We have to get Jose, his demands that he be given control of football affairs is something the club desperately needs to happen. It cant carry on being run like it is. Let the manager manage, buy the players HE wants for the positions HE has identified needs strengthening and sell the players HE wants. The boardroom can still take care of transfer fee's and contracts etc when deals are being done but we need this change to happen and Jose knows it. He is strong enough to handle the boardroom, the players and the media and he has genuine affection for the club and fans(like Robbie did, real shame that) and unlike FSW (Disaster that). He's the best manager in the world, is available, has blue in his blood. Ticking all the boxes for me. If the board do one thing right in their useless lives pleeeaaase let it be this. Get Jose back. And to all those idiots who say Jose's teams play boring football i say the only thing boring about it is the predictability that CFC will win nearly every week. Nothing Boring about Robben,Duff,Crespo,Drogba,Gudjohnson,Cole,Lampard. Scoring more goals than any other in a prem season and conceding just 15 in an entire season(that will never be beaten), some of which were scored against us in meaningless games once the title was won. Yeah well boring that, bring on the boredom, i'm ready, i can take it, bore me all over again Jose.

Race for Top 4
I cant understand why with no international tournament this summer why the season just cant be extended a week or 2 instead of cramming all the games in. The players are only going on holiday for fcuk sake. Especially with us competing in Europe, other FA's bend over backwards to give their teams the best chance of European success.

The title race next season - who's in the mix?
Mata keeps getting better, Hazard and Oscar will have had a season under their belts and will keep getting better. With a decent manager and a tweek or two to our squad we will be right in there challenging. Manure are no better than us now(look at our games against them this season) just been more consistent due to Fergie. If Jose came in and galvanized the squad/club/fans added a new face or two and got everyone pulling in the right direction i think we will be the team to beat.

F.A. Cup or Europa League?.
Exactly. and only a handful in Europe have done it too. I think its a nice trophy and it completes the set. We'd have won the lot then and thats bragging rights for you. Plus you've got the dam to think about, cracking venue. I put this on another topic remembering how good ka sara sara to Germany felt and sounded last year and sung to the tune of give me joy in my heart: Amsterdam, Amsterdam we are coming, Amsterdam, Amsterdam i pray, Amsterdam, Amsterdam we are coming, We are coming in the month of may. Kings of Europe,Kings of Europe, Kings of Europe here from Stamford Bridge. Kings of Europe,Kings of Europe,Kings of Europe here from Stamford Bridge. Repeat from start.

Joey Cole Interview
I couldn't agree more hisssstory is there for us to learn from mistakes in the past, maturity is probably the most apt word to use if you consider its definition: In psychology, maturity is the ability to respond to the environment in an appropriate manner. This response is generally learned rather than instinctive, and is not determined by one's age. Maturity also encompasses being aware of the correct time and place to behave and knowing when to act appropriately, according to the circumstances and the culture of the society one lives in.The status of maturity is distinguished by the shift away from reliance on guardianship and the oversight of an adult in decision-making acts. In short learning from mistakes and taking responsibility for ones actions. How appropriate. This doesn't have to be about the tragic events of Hillsborough, or the many mistakes that were made that day. Its more about the self proclaimed 'biggest club in the world' and the self proclaimed 'best fans in the world' always playing the victims and never taking any responsibility for their actions meaning everything gets brushed under the carpet and have since been repeated again and again by the very same fans both at home and abroad. But lets talk about Hillsborough maturely for a second and I'm just saying what most football fans will tell you the length of the country and although it may be a sensitive subject far better deal with it openly and honestly than bury your head in the sand and point the finger of blame at everybody else because the events of that day have changed football for the worse for millions of people and an entire generation of match going fans. I'd say the people who feel uncomfortable talking about that day are the ones who deep down feel guilty about their conduct and not the victims families who have campaigned for the truth. Until everybody puts their cards on the table, takes their share of the blame and we learn from it openly and honestly well quite frankly those lives will have been lost in vain and that becomes the bigger travesty and the chance of one day getting safe affordable standing area's back at matches stays out of our reach.

Purchases for next season and players to keep from loan
Not sure I'm Fellaini's biggest fan but agree that we are a bit nice at the minute as a team. Although we have never been a nasty team or dirty, we use to win some games a few years back through sheer physical presence. We had big powerful players Like Terry,Drogba,Essien,Ballack to name a few.

The Rafa Benitez Thread (merged)
Hope the club put a gagging order on him because the crap he's going to come out with after he leaves us, none of it was his fault, the club is a shambles from top to bottom etc etc etc. Another reason i'd love Jose back, he'd just mug him off with one comment.

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
The only thing I could NOT imagine is him going to Barcelona, everything else is an option because everyone else would want him: Other than that I wouldn't be surprised by anything, so perhaps..........Nah!

Roman arrested in USA?
Headline was also on Bloomberg with no story and then denied, Surely the FBI would let there 'porns' at MI6 take the lead in this investigation anyway taking all likely scenario's into the equation and we all know the conspiracy theories. Especially with any potential crime being on British soil. Unless of course Roman was indeed on the grassy knoll that day.

Chelsea in the Europa League
Might be a bit early but it would be a lovely venue for a final, I know its not the CL but we have never won it and its a nice trophy i'd like in our cabinet so lets try and get in the mood, I remember how good the ka sara sara to Germany felt and sounded last year so lets give this Uefa cup song a bash to the tune of Give me joy in my heart: While continuesly clapping. Amsterdam Amsterdam we are coming, Amsterdam Amsterdam i pray, Amsterdam Amsterdam we are coming, We are coming in the month of May. Bill Andrews' Lampard contract petition
sign it and tell everyone to sign it, anybody who thinks having him around for another year is anything but good is mad. Not only can he still do a great job on the pitch he's a model pro and a great role model off it.

Some thoughts about Howard Webb
Perhaps we could get Fergie to bring it up.......the FA would listen then
