There has been vast amounts of money put into our academy since RA came in, but as Mike mentioned, these things take years to develop. I have heard several players, including Lampard, talking about how far the academy has come along.

One of the main tasks for a lone striker is to hold up the ball. Lukaku completely failed to do that against Arsenal, as we have seen countless times before. His pace is hardly blistering either, he is large and comparing his speed to Torres in his prime is ridiculous. I would wager that Torres would out sprint him even now. He did do a good job pulling defenders out of position but Torres does this exceptionally well too. Torres has two bad games this season, every other game he has been brilliant, especially against Man City and Tottenham (two very important fixtures). Hazard has had 4/5 games where he might as well of not showed up, but no one is blaming our seasons problems on him. Some people are just so quick to shoot Nando down.

Ashley Cole is still the best left back in the league. There's no way he should be dropped, he is only 32. Azpi has done brilliantly and I think it's time to give him a shot in his natural position, where he was so good for us last year. Ivanovic is strong defensively but utterly useless going forward. Cole in, Azpi to the right, would give us the right balance defensively and offensively. Luiz deserves another shot. 7 shots on target, 7 goals is unacceptable.

Say what you want about Torres and his finishing/goal scoring, but no one can deny that he doesn't work hard for the team. He is constantly pressing opponents higher up the field and getting back to defend. Lukaku against Arsenal just sat up top waiting for service. He doesn't have exceptional pace. His first touch is often very poor and he can't really hold up the ball. His qualities are his pure strength and finishing. I'm sorry but i really don't think we would be that much better off with Lukaku in our team this year. As i said before, he is still VERY raw.

How many people would take Drogba back, just for the remainder of the season?

Still too raw to lead our lines. Potential to be a brilliant talent but I am starting to see sense in him going out on loan. Whilst it may not benefit our situation this season, next season he could be ready to become the player we want him to be.

Why is Cole still on the bench? Why is Azpi played out of position? We need a beast In midfield like Maka. And a striker. We must have the most inconsistent squad in the prem.
