  1. To be even more fairer, he came on very late in the match when the US back line was completely spent and Howard didn't have anymore tricks in standing on his head in goal.
  2. Then do us a favor and leave... All you do is bitch and moan anyway.
  3. He is the only reason why I still read this thread.
  4. Whoops... wrong thread! Wondering why I didn't see it in the Torres thread...
  5. Think those ten will be easily found with Costa and Fabregas. And we know Didier will tip the scales when we are playing at places like Stoke on a winter's eve. I mentioned this once before but when he came on at the WC versus Japan the game completely changed. The Japanese side were totally preoccupied with what Drogba can do and that opened up the game enough for them to lose. Drogba coming on late in the Premier could have the same effect. If they ignore him, he will make them pay. If they don't it could free up someone else to score.
  6. Suppose just suppose and I am not saying either way, (just thinking out loud really which has known to get me in heaps of trouble in my life) Chelsea tells Torres you are in the reserves for now and maybe the whole season and decide to take it on the chin? Would Torres accept that or would he look to move and take a paycut? Money is one thing but pride is another. At 30 would he be willing to sit out two more seasons for the money? It be a bluff on Chelsea's part but if they did do it and then we needed him surely he wouldn't refuse would he? It is a lot of money wasted if he called the bluff and stayed though... Thoughts?
  7. A fair point. I just don't think he is the shoddy player some are making him out to be. His final touch/play is a bit erratic but I do remember him finishing quite well against us in last year's Champions League. I would say you just don't lose that but then I think of Torres so you may very well be right? I am willing to bet he will come around and be great off the bench attacking late inthe match.
  8. Has Jose said anything about Lukaku since his comments about him coming out publicly as to why he wanted to leave last term? Has Jose said he does not want him here? All I hear is Lukaku talking about it. Finally, maybe just maybe Jose does not rate him as highly and to get 20M for him is a good deal. He has talked up a lot of our youth lately. Perhaps he rates them higher than Lukaku? Maybe Jose feels ship him because his big mouth and whining is not worth it because of this younger talent coming up? Maybe, just maybe nobody knows a single damn thing and that this thread was all for nothing? To come full circle, maybe Jose wants him and doesn't feel he needs to coddle Lukaku publicly. Point is none of us know and to hear comments from people claiming he is Everton bound in 48hrs is becoming as absurd as this thread. I am willing to bet Jose knows exactly what he wants and if it does not include Lukaku so be it. I think his judge of talent and the squad he wants to build is far superior over anyone of us. My feeling is if he stays, great! If not then oh well! I will side with one of the best managers in the game with the cabinet to prove so... If he is wrong then that is okay too because nobody is perfect however I am willing to side with Jose because he is far more right than wrong.
  9. It is definitely very promising considering the amount of young talent Chelsea has in the ranks. Of course not all will breakthrough and be stars or even wind up playing for Chelsea but if a third make it and half make it to the Premier League with other clubs (sans LFC, United, Arsenal, Spurs, and/or City) it would be wonderful. One different note, how come we are not hearing much of Feruz? Is he not playing well to not get any chances? I know he is young but definitely just as old as the kids mentioned. Being in the States I don't get to see the Under 21's a lot and was wondering. Any insight by you guys watching can offer be much appreciated.
  10. What argument is there? If a human does not eat food it has been proven that the body begins to break down virtually eating itself. Senses begin to suffer, mental capabilities are reduced drastically, physical strength is sapped, and I could go on and on to bore you of how many biological processes affect overall homeostasis. I am not saying this is why Salah hasn't finished well but for you not to think it has no effect is absurd! Do me a favor, get in your car and drive, doesn't matter where, could be just circling the block for a few hours. When your car starts to sputter and eventually stall out due to lack of fuel, you will then realize that energy is needed to power something. Whether a car or human (plant, animal, fuel cell, anything that needs energy for that matter) is irrelevant... Same way your auto needs gas to run, a human needs food or some sort of nutrition to do the same.
  11. You are 100% correct! I say Roman gives Jose the sack so we can keep Lukaku Nevermind he has done f**k all in a Chelsea shirt where there is actual pressure... Why is it every summer the rats rise out of steerage and preach how badly the ship is sinking...
  12. and virtually anonymous. I remember reading how Guardiola loved the fact he could walk a street or duck in a grocery and never be recognized. I think Lampard won't be as anonymous as Pep but considering the amount of celebs who ride the subway, walk in the parks, or do just about any other thing in normal life, Frank will easily blend in.
  13. I will let Jose's trophy cabinet speak to how Special he truly is, not some kid who moans to the press every chance he gets...
  14. While I shared a similar attitude over Didier prior to the World Cup and well before he was even brought up with Chelsea (player/coach) I noticed his presence in the second half of the WC match versus the Japanese team. My wife is Japanese and I have followed the Blue Samurai quite a lot going in. It was a tough group but I thought Columbia (even w/o Falcao) would get through as would Japan. Japan versus the Ivory Coast was literally a tale of two halves. Japan on an early goal were dominating bit once Drogba was brought on in the second half thimgs drastically changed. Japan played in the backfoot and always seemed to be worried about Drogba on the pitch. Turns out his distractionbwas a result ofbtwo goals and the win. Japan was deflated forbthe rest of the tournament and sent packing back to Tokyo. Now seeing that, there is no question he is brought on with 30 minutes to play (or even starting) that will disturb clubs like Villa, Sunderland, Stoke (on a February Wed night) , QPR, or those caliber teams that we had such difficulty getting a point let alone three from. If this guy can help Lukaku shake his attitude (and as his idol I believe he will) we have nothing to lose here. Ots Costa, Lukaku, and Drogba! I truly think Drogba has been brought in to mentor Lukaku because Jose has it with his outbursts and does not want it as a distraction to the club. From what I know about Jose (and it is based from what I read and not a close personal friend, obviously) is a guy like Lukaku who has not proven a thing in a Chelsea shirt but yet acts like he is Lamps is.not Jose's game. Instead of dealing with the new LeSulk, Jose decides to bring Drogba on to guide him. That is what I am thinking and it means Torres is gone and Chelsea will eat a lot of salary (ala Adebeyour). If not, then sell that fooking loud mouth who has proven shyte as far as I am concerned and never look back! Not like Lukaku is a finished product for a top flight team so fock him! He did shyte in the WC and has beaten up on poor defenses versus midlevel clubs when there in no.pressure. Not to say he may and could turn out to be an all star but do we really want to be held ransom by some fooking teenager! We are Chsea! If you can't fight for the shirt than you do not deserve one! I am banking on the positive and that Lulaku gets it but if not, see you the f**ck later. Send him to Wolfsburh for 15M where he will never get a crack at the CL. He wants mediocrity , he gets it! Apologies for my bluntness! I am so tired of talkng about ths guy who has done absolute nothing in a Chelsea shirt! Apologies, I am clearly pissed (it is Friday night) and too darn busy to correct my grammatical mistakes. I am on a Galaxy S3 that my 15 month old daughter decided it was worth throwing down a flight of stairs and the glass is shattered... Again, my apologies DROGS, DROGS WILL TEAR YOU APART AGAIN!
  15. Love that comment about Chelsea being infamously known not to have a player through the academy... And who has United put through? Cleverly? Zaha? The only player worth coming through was Pogba and where is he now? I don't know how you guys deal with it over there! The hatred for Chelsea in the British media is just mindblowing!
  16. "You have failed me for the last time Fernando!" As Darth Vader has Torres three feet off the ground with his hand on his throat...
  17. Well this GIF stopped the Pogba thread in it's tracks... Perhaps it should be posted on the Lukaku thread?
  18. Has there ever been an actual Chelsea player who has drawn so much interest and attention without doing a damn thing on the pitch?
  19. I am not in complete agreement with Drogba taking a roster spot at the moment but when it is January and we are at a place like Stoke, Villa, Newcastle, Sunderland and any other tough place to play and the opposing side is sitting deep and we are having difficulties trying to get 3 points and in walks Didier to do what hevhas done and has earbed us the 3-9 points that is needed to win; well then it will be all worth it. Bottom line whether Drogba scores or not, his presence shakes things up. Look what him coming on did versus Japan in the WC! Completely rattled them because he distracts everyone on the pitch. I aplogize for my poor grammar. I know thatvwas an incredibly ling run-on sentence. Mr. Maher my 8th grade English teacher would be apalled!
  20. But did they actually pay? I am under the perhaps false misapprehension that they did not pay?
  21. It is to my understanding (and I could wrong here) that Madrid and Barcelona have the government's full financial support, meanng they can take out virtually interest free loans issued by the government to basically go out and spend. Now if that is true and if the numbers on the economy and the insane unemployment rate under the age of 40 is a whopping 25% plus are true (which I believe are) how is not Spain in uproar? Yeah sure they sign player after player but with so many out of work (A) how can they afford tickets (B) how is the country's youth not outraged, and © how does a supposedly country who's economy is only getting worse still have the ability to lend to others? I am a derivative trader and not a bond trader but I know enough.about economics to say this is an utter trainwreck! Again, I am no expert on the Spanish economy gmy interests lie in Asia and N. America but it it doesn't take a genius to know where this headed. Love to learn how this (if true) how this is happening. Anyone care to shed light?
  22. Completely agree... Why split hairs over 5M when they can offload one of the most regrettable signings in club history. I still think Muutuu may be the most regrettable considering he made out with the cash and Chelsea holding the bag.
  23. After Cypress, Roman and more importantly his advisers have parked their money in safer places. If not shame on them! Better to park the billions in Treasuries and get the small amount of interest than to gamble on the Russian markets. I guess it all depends on how greedy they get but if it were me and I just lost a ton after the crisis betting on Russian oil, I would be locking my money in blue chip dividend paying stocks on the riskier side but surely be putting the majority of my money in safer investments. With that said, greed effects us all. Look no further than Batista in Brazil! Either way, Chelsea has a high price tag and if Roman is forced to sell we will get a great owner who will pay top dollar. Don't see any of this happening and it is more media fodder than anything else.
  24. I will pay your gas money and if there are any tolls you might have to pay.
  25. Apologies for not making my post clearer. I was referencing the previous comment about Lukaku having an attitude and how it would pass. People at Arsenal said the same thing about Bedtner too. My reference about the NBA is that Lukaku, his big mouth, and his poor attitude would be perfect in that league because that is how 85% of the players in the NBA act.
