A bit sad to see Frank line up in another Premier kit besides Chelsea but that's life. For all the things he has done for Chelsea and us supporters it shouldn't matter. He will get the runout in the Capital One and early stages of the FA Cup to keep his fitness. Pains to see him in another kit especially after his words of not being able to wear another English shirt but Chelsea's. I would love to see him get the game winner for City in the Community Shield just to shut them miserable mugs over at the Emirates up and rob them of another trophy. I would hope when he does play, he plays well! I do not want to see the man's legacy tarnished by any means.

Either that or Obi Won Kinobi! You do not need to sign any other players, Fernando Torres is the player you are looking for... Apologies, I know this is the third reference to Star Wars I have made in about two weeks time.

I don't but understand. What is even more irritating are those Americans who are aspiring to be comedians who will continually ask if there is any score in a sarcastic manner throughout the match... I didn't say it was perfect over here...

I have a Japanese NT shirt because my wife is from there and my daughter is half Japanese. In fact while we were over there prior to the World Cup I also picked up a Blue Samurai scarf as well. On a completely different note, I was in Singapore in the Chinatown district a few years back and my wife and I (before the kid was born) got caught up in a torrential rainstorm. We grabbed a table for some chili crab and Tiger beer to duck out from the rain. The wife doesn't drink so I basically was getting pissed. Table next to us had about 5 guys from Manchester who were all clearly United supporters. They warmed up to me nicely considering I was an American who supported Chelsea but still gave me shyte as a band wagoner Yank. It was only when I told them about the 94 FA Cup Final did they actually respect me. Sorry, long story short, we were under some tarp-like awning sitting on plastic lawn chairs when mine collapsed and spilled beer all over myself. Drenched with suds, I was clearly the laughing stock. Earlier in the day, I had bought a counterfeit Liverpool shirt on the street for a friend back in the States. Well rather than wear that, I just sat there in a beer soaked Polo shirt. I told the Mancs what I had in my bag an how I refused to wear it and they were so happy we drank a few more rounds and they picked up the wife and I's tab! To this day, never met such a good group of United supporters.

Sorry, need to chime in here Beerqueen.. there is a reason why there are European brands sponsering European clubs to Play a tournament in the US. And that is money! With FFP in place and even before that these top clubs and others like Villa, Celtic, Valencia (and the list goes on) and that is because the sport is the fastest growing one in the US. And since the US has the most affluent sports culture than any other country says why they all come. It is all about clubs getting noticed in this environment with the idea that they are simply advertising their club. I grew up in NY and now live in Denver and I can guarantee you at 9am East coast time, 7am here in Denver, and more than likely 6am on the west coast bars/pubs are filled with people (ex pats and Americans) watching the English Premier League. I have spent many a mornings on a Saturday drinking Carlsberg pints at 8am and eating an English breakfast belly up to the bar at a Chelsea establishment for that matter. I am certainly sure there are plenty of places like Nevada Smith's in Manhattan which are packed wall to wall it people well before noon. It is your and other's attitudes that think that only the English are dedicated enough to watch the Premier League and can have a say. That elitist attitude is exactly why you do f**k all in any major tournament. And for the record here in Denver, I was at the Three Lions pub packed so much that people were on the sidewalks watching Italy beat England in the last Euro. And this is certainly not a small pub where maybe 30 heads can sit comfortably. Try well over 300 people! Ya see we spend good money to pay for cable packages, to travel abroad, to wake up at the wee hours of dawn to watch the matches live, to spending money on kits, kids gear, and/or whatever to provide an enormous revenue stream to English clubs. In fact I know people who spent well over $150 to see United play Roma here in Denver just last week in as you said a meaningless match. Do you do that when it actually counts during the season? Clubs line up to play here because it is a budding market one that is tired of American sports with their commercials and star players in and out of prison. We spend a sh*tload to see it and enjoy it just as much as your apparently privileged ass. That is why they come here and play B squads and charge the same if not more than what you pay to see the real thing. And yes we certainly know what a draw is...

Spiller, could not agree more. It is a win win for all, except Lukaku is a bit far from the Champions League at the moment. Personally, love to see Everton there but considering they have done f**k all so far this off-season while everyone around them strengthened I am willing to bet he won't get there with Everton this year or maybe the next few. I can easily see him throw the rattle from the pram when he is 24 and 3 years in to his contract and want to jump ship though.

Again, on the wind up! It is abundantly clear that you do not like Jose and will take a stab any way you can. I said this already but you seem to be going for the Borat-Balkey-Mr. Bean approach. Let me wind up everyone saying Jose is rubbish and how we all are clueless. Give it a rest already!

Why? Because he scored a few goals playing for West Brom and Everton? Yeah, more proven than Bamford but come on... Players would defend Lukaku a lot more differently at Chelsea and who knows maybe the pressure of scoring for a top notch club would be an impact. Obviously we are taking speculation and unless you have a crystal ball either of us have no idea what could or could not happen. I wish he stayed tbh but he felt he would perform better else where. I won't speculate and say he is a weak minded player because who knows? While we are both speculating, we can not rule out a return back to Chelsea right? Odds don't seem that way but odds are there to be smashed so who knows?

Rather face the wrath of Platini and his FFP. Unless United pay us his wages for the last three years of his contract and it keeps it on their books in doing so.

Maybe Drogba was brought in for him (rather than Lukaku) amongst other reasons because I truly think Drogba will have plenty to offer before this next season ends.

I am sure there is no one on this planet more than Fernando Torres who wants to see him return to even half of what he once was. As much as I and everyone wanted to see him leave, he is here to stay so rather than carry on about it, let's try and give him support. We pretty much have done that through this ordeal and think it only be helpful for him and team to be positive. I know everyone has and certainly know people (including myself) have joked about him but in the end it doesn't help. I personally am beginning to feel sorry for him because you know of he wants to prove himself but his confidence is clearly shot. Burning his Jersey or hanging banners at Stamford Bridge (as one in here suggested) will certainly make thing worse all around for him and the club...

That is a lot of speculation there. One can also say that Bamford will turn out to be the next Drogba for Chelsea and if Chelsea didn't make this "silly mistake", we would have never known.

Somebody mentioned Jackson Martinez and I like that idea as our number two. I don't see him often but a co-worker who is originally from Columbia said he is a tough hardworking player who can run. Problem is Porto will want probably 35M for him knowing our wealth and we'll just being Porto.

Only if we can take his contract and cut his wages and the amount of years off and let United deal with the rest of what he is owed.

I for one have nor ever had a problem with EFC and the things Moyes and now Martinez have and are pulling off is nothing short of miraculous considering the budget. Surprised to see them spend so much on Lukaku. I assume they feel Lukaku is their man and that he fits in very well. It's a bit of a tragedy to see this whole Lukaku/Chelsea unfold the way it did but in the end it works for everyone. Lukaku gets his starts, Everton get their man, and Chelsea get a nice fee for a player who didn't want to be there.
