  1. I have been to Citi Field a few times when visiting the folks back in NY. It is a very nice stadium but from a baseball standpoint you cannot walk around the lower tier to see the game. They closed it off for suites. It is a bit of a bother but the rest of the stadium is superb and far better than Yankee Stadium. Here in Denver, brick is everywhere and it is open all along the bottom deck. It is a nice feature because outside in the concourse you can grab a bite or drink aand nestle up to field without having to pay for the premium seats. Spent many days buying a ticket in the upper deck but stood pretty much at field level knocking back pints (OK, they're plastic cups of shoddy American beer) and watching a game. I am sure to be biased but Coors Field is perhaps the finest places to catch a baseball game. If you do decide to sit on the right field side and in the upper deck which face west you get to see the sun set over the mountains. With that said if they replicate Citi Field which has major influences of Coors Field, it be great. Citi Field is very nice but the one drawback I mentioned kills it for me.
  2. Pure Class and why players will give everything they have for him. Apart from a very few, most stars in the sport who have played for him have nothing but good things to say. He asks for 110% and in return he will show incredible loyalty. Glad he is back and hope he stays for 20 years.
  3. Blah blah blah... Who cares what this Scouse c*nt has to say.
  4. Nothing this man does has been short of calculating. He wants a dynasty and a legacy like some other managers. His comments and actions are completely engineered to bring out the best in the squad and us supporters. I see nothing wrong with it.
  5. "Only one person said I couldn't play twice in one week and he knows who he is"
  6. Not on those wages and what it cost to bring him to Chelsea.
  7. Watched the match here stateside and my memory slips who said it but he said this; "Willian is harder to read than War and Peace!" Absolutely brilliant comment and so true.
  8. To the Blue is the Color; Boring Boring Chelsea football is their name We all play to win points every day So cheer us on when we grind big games Because Chelsea, trophies are our name

  10. Before today which he scored the match winning goal; John Terry has 63 goals as a center half with Chelsea the club he signed with as an 8 year old . He averages a goal every ten games over 16 years. Remarkable statistic and then there are the goals he actually saves. Is it time to start thinking he is top 5 defenders in the history of the game?
  11. Think the globe views that opinion now. Some friends who don't even follow the sport here in the States have texted me YouTube clips of Luiz looking foolish. Of course they're all about the Suarez nutmeg moves but some are so in disbelief of Luiz's silliness they think the sport is rigged. To quote one, "this is a totally rigged sport, that defender just let him walk through! Pathetic!" Obviously that is not the case but to have people who don't watch the sport at all saying this speaks loudly.
  12. Better than Nato though? If Chelsea sign him it'll be a wash and probably a profit through shirt sales. Not much though because the Japanese are not exactly stupid and know why Chelsea signed him. This is marketing for Yokohama and the fact they paid top dollar for the sponsorship, why not? Sadly, this is the sport now. Try and profit as much as you can to meet FFP. Next up will be managers selling their daughters and sons to the slave trade to profit.
  13. Normally I would agree but they did have a full week of rest and to prepare for PSG and looked quite flat against a ten man side. Should've taking that match by the scruff and ran with it.
  14. While winning this home to Liverpool would be fantastic. I prefer to just get'er done as quickly as possible. In regards to the Liverpool replica, I bought one at the night bizarre in Chang Mai for a friend who supports Liverpool about 3 years ago. Cost about $8 USD. He wore it a few times before washing it knowing it would unravel in the wash on the first try. It did on the second wash right about when slippy Stevie unraveled their title hopes last season. Timing was impeccable and to this day we both laugh. Well I laugh with tears and he actually cries. He claims he ordered me a cheap Chinese knock off for the finale but I have yet to receive it nor will I accept. To be fair, he is an honest friend and has called Chelsea to win it all since November. Let's just wrap this up as quickly as possible is my vote!
  15. Not necessarily true. If the $450M loss the article suggest has not been realized than its merely a decrease in his portfolio's valuation. He has to sell off to truly capture a loss. No way oil will stay this low for an extended period of time and the Rouble will rebound regardless of sanctions. It may not bounce back entirely but it surely will retrace it's decline in a significant way. Also what the article fails to recognize is Roman's other assets. Surely he is well diversified with USD derived investments and those are only getting stronger along with the dollar. I find it funny that other clubs supporters mock Roman about him losing his money, as if all of his fortune is in oil. Oil may have jump-started his empire but I am willing to wage it is now less than half. Like I said before, he is shrewd and has an army of intelligent people surrounding him. No doubt his oil stake is hedged with futures contracts and as for his other investments, I am sure they too are well protected. One doesn't have a net worth North of $10B by accident.
  16. I doubt very much Roman holds any roubles. The writing on the wall with the Rouble was long before the sanctions and oil futures dropping worldwide. I would think he fled the Rouble after the debacle in Cyprus. Only the Chinese recently agreed with Russia over a currency swap and that surely is biting them in the ass now. They both want the US dollar off the standard but that will never happen. I am sure the currency exchange was inline with the massive gas deal China swindled. I may be wrong and Roman made have made a huge miscalculation but I doubt that. I sit here in the US trading futures and derivatives for a living and I saw the writing on the wall. I am sure Roman and his many and more educated advisors have seen the same. Many reasons why the Saudi led OPEC has kept up production. one being they see the US no longer importing their oil so they want to find others to export their oil to. Russia was a threat with China, Korea, and Japan. They and the other main OPEC nations (Qatar, USA, Kuwait) are willing to maintain production at cheap prices to maintain markets share. Personally I am more worried over a global economical slowdown (as the price of oil, inflation on EM's, and macroeconomic data than Roman losing his money.
  17. f**king spare us your drivel you twat! Did you ever think that "Foriegn" money from said tourists and merchandise sales help pay for the players we sign? You remind me of that bloke cab driver in the movie Football Factory. Pipe down and give it a f**king rest! Without foreign money coming in to the club we would not make FFP. You my friend are a complete idiot. Can't afford tickets? Perhaps you should have made more of yourself to have the ability to afford tickets. Sick of hearing people like you alienated because Chelsea has become a global brand where folks want to travel to London and see the club. f**king pathetic you are! I am a foreigner and have spent probably more money on the club than you. Give it a f**king rest already! You want trophies but yet you'll bitch about the foreign money that pays for it. I've been a Chelsea supporter since '94 and you know what I've never seen a match at the Bridge. However it does not mean I am no less a fan than you because you were born in England! Sick and tired of hearing people like you whine and moan about how foreigners are ruining Chelsea. No, we are not! We are providing revenue to the club who then sign world class players. Mind you most of those players are foreign to begin with! Run along and bitch to your boss about not making enough money and how life sucks because US FOREIGNERS are ruining your club! The dross you speak is f**king ridiculous! You want a world known club and the money but yet you don't like foreign supporters. Your Mum is calling, think she has some soup in the stove because clearly you can't feed yourself. To everyone else, my apologies! I simply find it ridiculous when fools like this comment about how Chelsea is a foreign club! For me, they will always be London's club regardless if us Yanks, Asians, Aussies, Latinos or freaking whoever else shows up. We all love the club as much as you and frankly want to see lower ticket prices for you English to go and sing so we can hear it on the television. However you want world class footballers be prepared to pay for it. It's not us foreigners who've raised ticket sales. It is the caliber of players we sign. I do my part and buy gear every year and if I lived in London I would try to see as many matches as I can afford and not bitch and moan about how tickets were once cheap. No competitive club nowadays can charge what they did years ago! It's called inflation and supply and demand. Basic economics says it all. Sorry truth hurts. You want a world brand you Have to accept foreign fans.
  18. Yet let's count the trophies he's one since Hunt' cheap shot. Bit of a knee-jerk here huh? Ridiculous!
  19. Regardless of tonight I hope Jose gets the boys up and completely THRASH the Liverpool Scouse at Anfield! I don't care how far they are out of the league, I want to see a relentless beating that Madrid decided not to do in both of their matches in the Champions League! For me and I am sure all of you this match and the match at the Bridge are key regardless of the standings! Come on you Chelsea!
  20. Great post! I wouldn't want to watch my boyhood team NY Yankees play overseas. They have in the past played in Japan but a Baseball season is also 162 games long. As I mentioned originally seeing Chelsea or any club away from England would not be the same. Football is engraved in English culture therefor me personally feels that it should be seen in England. I have seen my fair share of matches here in the States and even though they are preseason friendlies, it's just not the same! At the end of the day this is all about the FA trying to squeeze every last cent out of the Premier League. Welcome to the modern sports world!
  21. I guess you missed the part about me agreeing with you and that matches should not be played abroad. Or maybe go back and read my original comments on another post.
  22. They also have players that should be on those teams play in England. Don't be so shortsighted. The Premiership is the most watched league on the globe. Reason being is that imports some of the globe's finest players. I agree the 39th match should not be allowed but it certainly isn't the close-minded view of its England's league because it's not and hasn't been for some time now. Just be thankful you get to have the ability to see matches in person week in and week out. A lot of us who don't live in England don't have that ability.
  23. One of the worst sides in the league? Are you joking me? I will chalk your comment as a knee jerk one. Falcao, Rooney, RVP, DiMaria, Mata may lead to an unbalanced side but certainly there are ten clubs who are worse. United are certainly not great due to not having that balance but to say they are one of the worst sides in the league is insane. They are better than Liverpool and Arsenal imo.
