  1. That might be true about attendances mate, but between 1973 and 1997 we only averaged above 30,000 once, and went as low as 12,00 average one season and 13,000 another season....We can all remember squeezing into the Bridge one game, and having next to none at the next game, our support has always been fickle. The away support has usually been superb though.
  2. I remember Chelsea had a little crew that used to steam into any away fans that stood under the old north stand in the sixties, they were deffo an older mob than the shed enders.
  3. I assume the track suited guy maybe Dmetri Kharin ?....who then is the guy on the goal line, looking like he's about to take a goal kick ?
  4. With reference to Plains of Almeria, the article is called "Spirit of Greenaway" well worth a look.
  5. Clifford Webb wrote to the club in 1966 asking that the covered end be renamed the shed. The website "Plains of Almeria" has a good piece on the early rise of the Shed.
  6. Definitely has to be Greenaway, he took the small half way line group from the west stand terrace into the covered south terrace, which became the shed. Along with characters such as Jesus. I've read about a Scot, but honestly don't remember who that is.
  7. Haha, this is comedy gold, we'll have to add "political trouble maker " to his legend banner
  8. thanks for your explanation mate, appreciated.
  9. jesus Mike, you've gone and done it now, expect a nail biter !!
  10. He isn't very good, all he does is score goals.
  11. Fulham in for Bertrand, be a mistake to let him go. Mata will surely want to leave, if only because its a World Cup year, regardless of whether he likes our club or not.
  12. the ticket prices are not a reflection of how exciting a league is.German clubs are all owned by at least 50% of fans at each club, with a couple of exceptions, and NO foreign owners are allowed. When the fans are put before profits, that's when you get lower prices. Plus, there are plenty of boring games and sh*t football in our league.
  13. yeah, a lot more money in PL, and don't we know it with ticket prices, Sky subscriptions and games played all over the place
  14. I'm gonna watch some YouTube, we should score while I'm gone
  15. ridiculous dive, would have been easier to stay on his feet.
  16. Not at all happy with this , is Jose the man for the job?
  17. We could buy him then send him out on loan, that wouldn't surprise me at all, half the teams in Europe seem to be a holding pen for Chelsea players.
  18. thanks for this info, how does that effect us, do you think, ?...still trying to get my head round it !
  19. The recent loss pales into insignificance when considered to the money the club STILL owe to the holding company that used to be called Chelsea Limited, but is now called Fordstam. This money has not been written off, as most people believe but is an outstanding debt payable to RA In theory, he needs only to give 18 months notice. Let's hope he doesn't need some pocket money any time soon. The question is though, why want it completely written off, it might not be anything to worry about, but having lived thru the twists and turns of our past financial woes, it does make me wonder.
  20. that's interesting, didn't know that.
  21. I'm not sure that the club are doing well, considering the loans that Roman has given the club, and then converted into shares via a holding company. Last report it was about £800 million, and in theory have not been written off. We are only where we are because of a Russian millionaire, that's fine as long as he stays interested, thank God he Spurs couldn't be arsed to meet him before he met Batesy !!
  22. yeah, the players will all want a rise for that deal, seems the more that comes in the richer the players get.
  23. yes Battersea was the perfect solution. I think the Earls Ct. development has also gone, but the Lille Road railway yard was still a possibility ?..like to know where we are with it all, couldn't stand a move further away tbh.
  24. a scouser writing for The Sun?....tut tut
