Costa, looked good on the attack, his hold up plays were fantastic and showed a great work rate.

I hate to say this, but Jose needs to be sacked. There should be ZERO reason why we go from unstoppable last year to this. Edit: Of course now Jose subs two which means Ivanovic will play the entire game. I fully expect them to get a 3rd goal because of this.

This is going to be a loooong match if this is what we are supposed to look forward to.

The reason behind some of our players atrocious starts HAS to be because we started preseason late. Players like Hazard, Costa and Fabregas don't just drop off like they have for no reason.

I am all for Stones and Berahino moving onto bigger and better clubs to further their career, but unfortunately neither of them will get as much playing time at the clubs (us and Tottenham) who are trying to sign them. They are better off playing week in and week out at Everton and West Brom, and then moving to a bigger club where they will get that same opportunity. Stones won't displace Terry, Cahill, Ivanovic or Zouma for CB duty just as Berahino won't displace Kane, Lamela, Erikson or Chaldi on the attack at Tottenham.

I think this transfer window is done and dusted. Even though we brought in some good talent we had a totally assbackwards way of handling negotiations this summer. It was only until AFTER our players left or after we started our season completely s**tty that we made moves. We knew our competition got better so we needed to be proactive with our transfers and we just didn't do that. Then we had to "scramble" to sign players in order to continue competing for the title.

Our biggest ever mistake was selling Robben to Madrid.

BTW it is a little weird not seeing Inter, AC Milan, Napoli or Dortmund in this tournament.

Valencia, Roma and Mönchengladbach / Wolfsburg would be fun. I think our problem last year is that we cake walked through the group stage and when we came face to face with legit competition in PSG we got a little too cocky.

At this point I don't care if we get either of them. There has been enough drama with Everton for Stones, and the Pogba transfer was a long shot anyway, that I am ready for this transfer window to close. If City do in fact get KDB, us and the rest of the league will be chasing them all season. Especially considering that Yaya has seemed for find his offensive abilities again.
