Eden Hazard to Real Madrid

Well, this was inevitable.

According to WAGNH, Florentino Perez wants to sign Hazard and is willing to sell either Ronaldo or Bale to fund the move:

Judging that Hazard's just signed a new contract, Florentino will have to sell both to afford him!

Amazing that this has surfaced, when immediately after the Newcastle game I saw people tweeting "cash in on Eden this summer."

To be honest, I think he may look to move elsewhere in the next season or two, and if Real are seriously interested then it's either going to take a large sum of money, or a good chunk of money and a player.

Right now, even if he is under-performing, he's still an exceptional player.  Need to stop being so damn greedy at times when dribbling, and needs to take a shot sooner too.  He can be frustrating when he slows down to invite a defender onto him, just so he can dance around him.

In my opinion, this will happen.

Ronaldo is getting older and having less of an effect on their games. He'll be 31 next year and Madrid may look to cash in with PSG and United interested.

You joking aren't you? He's scored something like 7 goals in the last 2/3 games. The guy is still an animal, no matter where he plays. I would take Ronaldo at Chelsea even now, he's that much of a game changer.

Come to think of it, this should happen but when is the question.

I think it depends on how successful we are in the near future. If we are winning just the league and/or domestic cups then Eden will probably leave in another two years. However, if we were to win the CL within the next two seasons, I genuinely believe he will stay with us for a slightly longer duration depending on how we defend that CL title.

However, there are still many factors to be considered at Madrid's side. Who knows, maybe Odegaard becomes a goal scoring machine (lol) and they don't see the need to buy Eden anymore. Or maybe FSW gets to keep his job till then (is that even possible?) and signs a lamp post instead.

Oh, and Reus (26 if I'm not wrong) is about two years older than Eden. I don't think signing someone close to their 30s by then will benefit us in the long term. I'd rather trust young players like Kenedy, Traore or even buy back Thorgan to replace Eden if he leaves.

Hopefully, all goes well in the future.
